Being a mum is one thing… being a bonus mum as well? That’s a whole different kind of love story.
It’s learning to balance two worlds that don’t always run on the same schedule. It’s navigating big feelings (theirs and your own), showing up even when it’s hard, and figuring it out as you go. It’s school runs, work deadlines, editing galleries late at night, dinners on the table, and a mental load that never really switches off.
Some days feel seamless… most don’t.
There are moments of doubt, moments where you wonder if you’re getting it right, if everyone feels seen, safe, and loved. Because when your heart is split across so many people, you carry a different kind of responsibility.
But there’s also so much magic in it.
The kind of love that grows over time. The little wins. The laughter in a full house. The quiet moments where you realise—this is your version of motherhood, and it’s enough.
To the mums, the bonus mums, and the ones doing both… you’re holding more than most people see. And you’re doing an incredible job, even on the days it doesn’t feel like it 🤍
