πŸŒ… Final Stop: North of Esperance Tour! πŸŒ…

Today, marked the end of my North of Esperance adventure! 🏞️

Kicked off with a visit to Esperance Bird and Animal Park & CafΓ© 🦜 – the Macaw stole the show with its stunning colors! Llamas, emus, and kangaroos made it extra special. The carrot cake and coffee β˜• on the veranda? Perfect!

After stops in Gibson and Scadden πŸš—, I’m heading home tomorrow via Lake Camm Tennis Club 🎾 and Corrigin 🏑.

What a trip! ❀️ With Lucky Bay at the highlight!

🌊 A Day of Adventure at Lucky Bay & Hellfire Beach! πŸš™β˜οΈ
After a hectic week, I needed a day of rest β€” but the weather had other plans! πŸŒ₯️ Low 20s and full cloud cover didn’t stop me from revisiting Lucky Bay and Hellfire Beach. The drive through farmland and regrowth forest was relaxing. 😌
Lucky Bay was breathtaking β€” fine white sand so firm I drove across in high 4WD without deflating the tyres! πŸš™πŸ’¨ Coffee in hand, I soaked up the crystal waters and rolling waves. 🌊
Hellfire Beach? Wild and windy β€” no swimmers today! πŸ’¨ A quick visit before heading to La Grange Beach for future 4WD adventures. πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜Ž

β˜€οΈ Esperance: Sun, Sand & Stunning Views! πŸŒŠπŸ–οΈ

What a DAY!

Started cool but quickly turned into perfection – clear skies, light breeze, and a warm 29Β°C! 😎

After finishing my trip notes, I headed to Canary Lookout for a breathtaking panorama – the still water and sunshine made it picture-perfect! πŸ“Έβœ¨

Next stop – Esperance StonehedgeπŸ›οΈ – a 230-tonne pink granite replica of the ancient English Stonehedge, aligned with the solstice! How did they build it so long ago? Mind-blowing! 🀯

Then it was off to Lucky Bay 🏝️ – bleach-white sand, crystal-clear water, and 4WD access. Hellfire Bay was just as incredible – calm, protected, and inviting. Tomorrow = a swim – no cameras, just me and the ocean! πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

πŸ‘‰ Check out the pics – pure paradise! 😍

πŸŒ… Esperance Series: A Gentle Day Exploring the West

✨ Lake Monjingup Nature Reserve – Started the day with a peaceful walk along the 🌿 boardwalk through paperbark trees thriving in the water. The trail winds through blooming 🌼 banksias, leading to a tranquil hide overlooking the lake – no birds today, but so peaceful!

🚐 Stokes National Park – Quagi Beach – Crystal-clear waters 🌊, white sands πŸ–οΈ, and large camping spots (sites 12–14 are the best!). Great bushwalks 🌲 and clean toilets 🚻 – definitely worth a return trip!

🦈 Munglinup Beach – Shallow reef 100m offshore = shark-free swimming! πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ White sands, gentle waters, and stunning granite cliffs πŸͺ¨ made for incredible views. The small campground was full – but so worth it!

Oh, and the BIGGEST tick πŸͺ² sat on my window for 4 minutes before flying away! πŸ˜³πŸ˜†

πŸŒŠπŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈ Exploring the Great Ocean Drive – Pure Coastal Magic! πŸŒ…βœ¨
Yesterday was all about exploring the town, but today I kicked off my 🌿 Great Ocean Drive adventure at the Rotary Lookout πŸ‘€ – a steel structure built by the local Rotary Club.

The views over the harbour and surrounding cove were absolutely breathtaking! 😍

The walking trail πŸ₯Ύ winds through the bush before opening onto a granite-topped cliff with jaw-dropping views of rock-strewn beaches and crystal-clear waters. 🌊 Even with some chop out to the archipelago, the water was so clear you could see the bottom! πŸ‘Œ

Next stop – Lover’s Cove ❀️. The steep descent required a chain handrail πŸͺ’ as I climbed over narrow gullies and boulders to reach the soft white sand. πŸ–οΈ The waves crashing against the shore created a peaceful, magical vibe. 🌊

The drive along the coast was equally stunning – rugged cliffs πŸ”οΈ, white sandy beaches 🏝️, and shallow reefs.

Final stop: Pink Lake Lookout 🌸 – no longer pink, but still beautiful!

A day to remember! πŸŒžπŸš—πŸ’™

β˜”οΈπŸŒΎ Esperance Arrival – Rain, Roiling Wheat Fields & Warm Smiles! πŸŒΎβ˜€οΈ

What a day!

It started with a heavy thunderstorm pounding the caravan roof until 6:00 am, easing to steady showers all the way to Esperance. The drive from Ravensthorpe was slow and steady, with wheat fields rolling endlessly to the horizon, broken only by patches of native bushland. 🌾
Arriving at RAC Esperance Caravan Park with the tail of the storm, I faced the narrowest site access ever – saved only by a helpful neighbor who moved his car! After setting up in the drizzle, the rain stopped within minutes. πŸ™Œ
Esperance surprised me with its size and the friendly staff at the Info Centre, who even printed my National Parks Pass for free – service with a smile! 😍😊

Esperance: Turquoise Waters, White Sands – Pure Breathtaking Beauty!

After a good night’s sleep, I hit the road early, leaving by 8:30 am.

Stopped for coffee at Lake Grace β€” WA’s largest freshwater lake (though shallow enough that the wind shifts the water daily!).

The bakery there is excellent!

Drove through Lake King, a smaller town, before reaching Ravensthorpe around 1:00 pm. Set up at the RV Rest Point β€” a bit uneven but manageable with levelling ramps. Had a beer at the historic pub.

Sad to see the local store shut down in January after 25 years.

Diesel’s pricey β€” 60c more than Belmont β€” but a good night free camping spot, as long as you have levelling blocks!
