„I can just take photos on my phone.“ - Yep, I thought the exact same thing when Haggie moved in with me!

I took tons of quick pictures at home and on walks with my phone. But looking back now? I don’t have a single proper, high-quality family photo of us from when he was just a small puppy.

Time flies way too fast and we always assume we have forever. If I could turn back time, I’d book at least two professional shoots for his very first year!

Fun fact: Even as a professional dog photographer, I STILL book an annual photoshoot for my own dogs every single year because nothing can replace having real family photos. 🤍

Don’t wait until it’s too late. Book that shoot - you will never, ever regret having those memories preserved! 📸✨

Secretly thrilled when your dog isn’t looking at me!
Don’t get me wrong - there is a time and place for connection towards the camera 📸 but definitely not for the majority of the photos in our session.

A lot of clients worry when their dog is distracted by something and try to get their attention back my way- but honestly we don’t really need or want that most of the time.

Being patient and waiting to see what a dog does and where they naturally look and how their expression changes makes for some of the absolute best, most authentic storytelling photos!

So please, don’t worry or interrupt your dog when they turn their gaze towards a bird or a sound. It couldn’t be more perfect!

The world lost Andi way too soon. While I share so many happy moments on my page of people & their dogs, I know that those photos will become everything to you when our dogs have to leave us.

When Georgia got in touch for an end-of-life shoot for Andi, we prioritised making it happen in just a few days. I’m so grateful Georgia has these photos to look back on and remember just how deeply loved Andi was.

This year was my first year participating in the international pet photography awards.

And I can say that ✨ all ✨ of my photos got awarded! All of them have been from client shoots & none of them was me going out to get - the one photo - to submit to the awards.

I have lots of thoughts and feelings around certain topics when the results dropped (some not even impacting me directly) but I now have an idea of what I’d like to submit in the following year.
