A There is so much beauty in the unscripted. When we stop focusing on “perfection,” we make room for connection. My sessions are designed to be unhurried and toddler led.

We use prompts that encourage them to play, explore, and love on you, not instructions to look at a lens. If they’re running circles around us? Great. That’s where the movement is. If they’re having a quiet moment? Even better. That’s where the beauty is.

From “stranger danger” to “best friends” in ten minutes flat. This is why I love what I do. 🤝

There is nothing quite like the moment a shy toddler goes from hiding behind mum’s leg to wanting to play and join me to see what all this photo fuss is about.

I know it can be nerve wracking for parents. You worry they won’t warm up, or that the “shy phase” will mean no smiles. But as a mum to three wild boys, I’ve learned that the secret isn’t in forcing a connection, it’s in playing our way into one.

I ditch the “photographer” hat and become their biggest fan instead.

We run around, tell silly stories, and play games that make them forget the big black camera even exists.

Watching that trust build in real time is the absolute highlight of my sessions. By the end, I’m not just a lady with a lens; I’m the person they’re racing toward.

I hear it from parents every single week: “I want beautiful photos, but my kids are just too wild/loud/energetic right now.”

I get it. I really do. As a mum of three very energetic boys who cause so much chaos at home, I am not put off easily! I know the exact feeling of trying to keep everyone happy, dressed, and engaged all at once. It’s stressful, and the last thing I want is for your photo session to feel like another chore on your “to-do” list.

That is why I’ve spent years perfecting a toolkit of prompts and games that actually work. I don’t expect your kids to be little statues; I expect them to be kids!

This specific prompt? It is always a winner. 🏆
