J Shed Photo Group Group of emerging photographers working with Peter Zuvela Photographer. J SHED PHOTO GROUP are pleased to present their first exhibition titled ‘Exposed’.

Opening Friday October 28th at 5.30 pm at Greg James Sculpture Studio Gallery at J Shed (Unit 2, 1 Fleet St. Fremantle). Artist involved are; Alessandra Cavassa, Amanda Powell, David Broadfoot, Katheryn Asenjo and Wendy Attenborough. I have been working with this group of emerging photographers for a number of years. They have approached various themes in their pursuit of excellence in photograph

y for this show. I feel they have evolved over time into excellent photographers. Mind you I have to say they are all talented. I have encouraged the group to commit to exhibiting their work even though it is a challenge and each in their own way feels exposed to the world during this process. Thus the exhibition title "Exposed"

With the restrictions of Covid 19 prevailing this year the group has had to delay and regroup several times. We hope you enjoy the images that they have on show. I personally congratulate them for their commitment to pushing through the hard times.

Photography 200 years ago.

August 19, 1826: Nicéphore Niépce produced the first heliograph during his attempt to capture the view from a window, exploiting the darkening properties of bitumen of Judea on a tin plate, with an exposure of approximately eight hours.

This image, known as « View from the Window at Le Gras » (The Courtyard of the Domaine du Gras), measures 20 x 25 cm, and is still intact today, preserved at the Harry Ransom Center of the University of Texas at Austin, USA.
