From newborn sessions at home to family and maternity sessions, every shoot looks a little different. So it’s pretty special to hear what the experience has felt like from the other side of the camera.

Every in-home newborn session looks a little different, and that’s the best thing about them ✨

Sometimes we’re hanging out in the living room, sometimes we’re in the nursery. There might be a feed, a coffee break, a toddler wandering in and out, or a dog who decides they’re part of the photos too!

There’s no rush or pressure to get the perfect shot. We just move around, follow bub’s lead and make the most of whatever the morning looks like.

And that’s kind of the whole point. We’re making memories out of whatever this little stage of life looks like for you right now 🤍

Pool season is almost here! I can’t wait for daylight savings and after school swims ☀️🛟

I took these photos for Audrey’s birthday last year, and in true photographer-mum fashion, they sat bottom of my editing pile for almost a year. She turns 8 next week 🙈

We had a fun little photoshoot this morning to celebrate her turning 8, so hopefully I won’t leave them as long this time 😅

Those first few weeks at home with your baby feel like you’re in a little world of your own. Time slows down, you forget what day it is and you’re completely wrapped up in them 🤎

It’s such a learning curve for both of you as you get to know each other, and every little moment feels so special.

Before you know it, your tiny newborn is changing before your eyes, and those early days are becoming a memory. It all goes by so much quicker than you think.

I love being able to capture this part for you 🤍

Would you have guessed it drizzled with rain for this entire session?

We didn’t let a little rain dampen our spirits though, and I think it made the whole evening feel even more magical than we’d planned!

When rain is forecast for a session, I’ll always keep in touch throughout the day, watching the weather and keeping you updated on whether we should go ahead or reschedule.

This beautiful family were happy to embrace the moody skies and a little sprinkle, and I’m so glad they did. 🤍

One of the questions I get asked all the time is, when is the best time for newborn photos?

The truth is, there isn’t one perfect answer. If you love those sleepy, fresh newborn images, I usually recommend the first couple of weeks. But with my relaxed, lifestyle approach, there is much more flexibility.

The one thing I do recommend? Booking while you’re still pregnant. Most families secure their spot a few months before their due date 🤍
