Would you have guessed it drizzled with rain for this entire session?

We didn’t let a little rain dampen our spirits though, and I think it made the whole evening feel even more magical than we’d planned!

When rain is forecast for a session, I’ll always keep in touch throughout the day, watching the weather and keeping you updated on whether we should go ahead or reschedule.

This beautiful family were happy to embrace the moody skies and a little sprinkle, and I’m so glad they did. 🤍

Why I fell in love with photographing babies at home 🤎

My own experience as a first-time mum really shaped the way I approach newborn sessions.

Those early days are already such a big adjustment. The last thing you need is to feel like you’re adding another thing to organise.

I love creating a space where you can slow down, be with your baby, and enjoy these moments while I quietly capture the little things happening around you.

Some of my favourite sessions have looked nothing like a traditional photoshoot.

They’ve been afternoons spent baking cookies in the kitchen, running through the sprinkler on a hot afternoon, skatepark hangs, roasting marshmallows by the fire, or dancing around the lounge room together.

Because your family photos don’t have to fit inside a box. There’s no rule saying they have to be in a field at sunset (unless that’s your thing!)

The most meaningful photos are the ones that capture your family. The places you spend your weekends and the things your kids are obsessed with right now.

Years from now, they won’t just remind you what everyone looked like. They’ll remind you what this season of life felt like.

So when you’re dreaming about your family photos, don’t ask yourself, “Where should we go?” Ask yourself… “What would we love doing together?”

That’s where the magic is 🤍

The truth is, it doesn’t need to be. All we need is one room with beautiful natural light, whether that’s your bedroom, nursery or lounge room. From there, we can create something really special.

The focus is never on your home. It’s on your family, your connection, and all those tiny newborn details you’ll never want to forget.

There’s no need to spend days getting everything perfect. I’ll help you choose the best spot when I arrive, bring everything we need, and gently guide you through a relaxed, baby-led session.

The truth is, there isn’t one perfect answer. If you love those sleepy, fresh newborn images, I usually recommend the first couple of weeks. But with my relaxed, lifestyle approach, there is much more flexibility.

The one thing I do recommend? Booking while you’re still pregnant. Most families secure their spot a few months before their due date 🤍
