Hi everyone!
I’ve finally got round to creating a page for my photography! ( It only took 5 minutes, wish I’d done it sooner ‘:D)
For those of you who don’t know me personally, I'm an Italian photographer now based in Oxford that LOVES studio lighting, among many other things.
This page is to share my work and how I create my lighting in studio, as well as to advertise the services I provide.
I will start with some of my recent work. I was helping out with lighting on a video shoot and I wanted to take a quick snap of the model for my portfolio.
Wasn't a ideal situation, I didn't have my 50mm or 85mm 1.4 but I did have a Canon 5D Mark IV and a 24-105, not bad but definitely not enough for taking a premium beauty picture.
Because there were filming an advert, all the lights were continuous and I normally work with flash so this was a new experience for me entirely.
The lighting set up was pretty straightforward: we had a main light coming from the top from a large diffuser, 2 white polyboards on both sides reflecting the light and wrapping the model around and a triflector under the chin of the model to eliminate shadows.
At the end of the video shoot I took few photography shots and I was actually quite impressed at the final result, there is a big different on the skin tone, way warmer because we were using hot lights but I think this style could have various uses for other projects.
Have you ever used continuous lights for beauty pics?
