As the weather in Melbourne is spectacular today, i left home early to visit the "Alfred Nicholas Gardens" and see if i could capture some Autumn colour. It has been about 2 years since i have gone out to shoot a landscape!

I was extremely lucky as one of the groundskeepers was at the lake, the islands were closed off, but i asked politely if i could enter for a couple of minutes and grab a quick photo, he graciously agreed, so i was able to setup in my favourite spot and see what i could capture. Iframed this with the boathouse central in the frame to capture the colour in the tress and in the reflection on the lake.

This was taken on my Nikon D810, with my Nikkor 85mm f/1.4. settings were 1/20th second, f/11 ISO 100 using my Wine Country Camera circular polarising filter.

It has been ages since i got the camera out, so this afternoon i forced myself to just shoot something..

I bought a Godox AD400pro over a year ago and basically haven't used it.. So i dug it out and put together a stripbox and shot 2 of my guitars...

When i first saw this beautiful Schoeps V4 microphone i knew i wanted to photograph it.

I tried a few different options in regards to lighting but after a little experimentation i decided the light painted image was the one i preferred.

The Alfred Nicholas Boathouse, surrounded by the last Autumn colour.

As the leaves have been falling rapidly over the past couple of days, we ventured out to see how the lake looked. Unfortunately the islands were closed so we had to shoot from lesser vantage points.

I have no idea what happened with ISO setting, it should have been at 100, i changed my lens from the 28/2 Zeiss to the 85/1.4 and last time i used the 85mm it must have been at ISO640!

We were extremely fortunate to find a pair of Gang Gang Cockatoos foraging in our garden this morning...
