Some seasons feel endless while we’re in them.
The feeds, the cuddles, the little hand reaching for you in the middle of the night.

And then one day, without warning, they’re not so little anymore. This is why I photograph motherhood the way I do. Not perfectly posed, not performative.

Just honest.

The quiet moments that become the memories we ache to hold onto. If you’re in the thick of it right now, I hope you know these ordinary days are worth remembering.

Lately, I’ve felt a disconnect with my work (not sure if thats something i should admit or not)

Not because I don’t love photography, not even because i don’t love the shoots I’ve been creating but because somewhere along the way I started trying to fit into a box.

I’ve spent so much time looking at what I should be creating. What performs well. What looks polished. What fits a certain aesthetic.

But as I was looking back through some of my very first photographs, these ones here of my baby boy, I was reminded of what made me fall in love with photography in the first place.

It wasn’t perfection.

It wasn’t carefully curated moments.

It was the beauty in the ordinary.

The way afternoon light spills across a kitchen floor. The quiet moments between people.
The messy, imperfect, deeply human parts of life that are so easy to overlook.

I admire fine art photography. I love beautiful editorials and artfully posed portraits.

But when I think about what truly sets my soul on fire, it’s something much simpler.

It’s finding beauty in everyday life. The ordinary that isn’t so ordinary at all.

So this is my reminder mainly to myself more than anyone else that I don’t need to fit into a box. I don’t need to create like anyone else.

I just need to create the work that feels honest.
The work that makes me stop and feel something.
And maybe that’s where the magic has been waiting all along.

Beautiful Tess on 35mm 🎞️ looking absolutely stunning in red.

I think Im slowly getting the hang of film, its been a-bit of a learning curve and I’ve had a-lot of trouble with cameras breaking, not loading the film properly ect … its been quite humbling.

I am definitely still learning and having fun lots of trial and error but i am really enjoying the process of not giving up on something even when its hard, and when i get beautiful photos like this I’m glad i haven’t given up yet hehe.

Although i may go into debt with how much film costs 🙈

Who said home maternity sessions cant be just as beautiful as a session outside?

I absolutely adore creating outside in nature, but sometimes the thought of leaving your house, having to put so much effort into your outfit, your makeup hair ect, honestly sounds like a nightmare.. and trust me i so get it!

You may see all these beautiful mamas in beautiful outfits, dressed up perfectly posed and say to yourself that just isn’t me…

Your style may be more low key, less fuss, simple
A warm knit, a cozy cup of tea, your favourite chair? I mean how nice does that actually sound?

Thats the beauty of a photographer who listens to you and what you actually want and strives to tell the story that is true to you.

Did you know that when you work with me i send out a questionnaire so that i can get to know you better and help you with deciding whats actually important to you.

Getting photos can be intimidating, from one introvert to another I completely understand this, but when you find the right photographer, one who listens and understands it really makes for a much more enjoyable session and don’t be afraid to say what you want, its your memories after all.
