Part 2 of Farrar and Sons Bakehouse. The Works potato pie. Had the pie for dinner Thursday night. The Works has chunky beef tomato onion bacon and topped off with mash potato and more bacon. Really nice pie $7.

Then I had an apple turnover and custard tart for dessert. Had the apple turnover first. Wasn't as much filling the last time. But still pretty enjoyable. Differently one of my favourites. With the nice cinnamon flavour. Then last but not least. The custard tart. Yum, nice hard crust on the bottom. The custard was a little running. I like my custard tart firmer. But the taste was there. Not much cinnamon on top. But as I said earlier. The flavours are there. Would I have these 3 again and again. They were so good .

Farrar and Sons Bakehouse 1/224/228 Maitland Rd Mayfield. (Behind Aldi). Its wheelchair accessible. Tables and chairs outside. This one of my goto Bakeries in Newcastle.

Farrar and Sons have a great range of pies sausage rolls pastie and pastries. Also have a sandwich bar. This time I tried the pastie lunch. It was awesome. It was more a savoury mince mixture than ya peppery ones you can get around town. Loved it. I also bought the works potato pie for dinner that night and an apple turnover and custard tart. The pastie and works potato pie cost $14. $7 each great value. Andrew bought a salad sandwich with Pineapple Avo ham and it cost him $13. It's what I should have had for my lunch. I got jealous. He loved it.

I'm trying to eat healthier and I MIGHT try and find the best salad wrap/sandwich around. Tell me your favourite places for a salad sandwich

Retro Rolls 75 Ntaba Rd Jewells. Retro Rolls is wheelchair accessibly. Just go down the main ramp to the shopping centre. Turn left at the bottom of the ramp and it's the 3rd shop along. There are tables and chairs outside undercover.

To order. Look at the menu on the wall. Then go to the counter and place your order. Prices range from $6for small chips to $16 for a retro roll

I had the Ronald Reagan Loaded Fries. Cheese burger, smash pattie, tomato sauce mustard burger sauce and cheese. With crinkle cut chips. It was so good $13. Chels had the Mcdaddy. Smash pattie with cheese lettuce pickles drizzled with special sauce in a long bun. She loved it $16. For an extra $7. You can get a combo of chips and can of drink

Will we be back. HELL YEAH

The Lot Smokehouse 116 Maitland Rd Islington. Not only do they do awesome Texas style smoked BBQ meats and burgers. They occasionally make Brisket and Jalapeno Pie. They are hands down one of the best pies I have ever eaten. They are huge. If you love warm spicy pies. This one is for you. Brisket tender, gravy yum and pastry solid bottom nice flaky lid. Just keep ya eye out one their page.

As much pain as this pie put me through. I will definitely be eating more of these pies(see video)

For some reason I can't put photos and video on the same review. Will put photos of the pie in comments. The video is funny enough

It's been a long time comin. To the return of The Lot Smokehouse & B**r Garden 116 Maitland Rd Islington. This joint is one of my favourite places to eat in Newcastle.

It's American style BBQ Smokehouse. The brisket tender as tender. The pulled pork. The Texas chicken, the sausage The burgers are so good. I recommend the cheeseburger . I could go on. I will put up the photos of the menu and prices with this review. Also has kids meals.

But, I was there for the Loaded Fries and Onion Rings. O.M.G my new fave in Loaded fries. The chips cooked in old style way. Better tasting. The brisket tender and flavoursome . Love the slaw and the sauce just tops it off. The onion rings have a unique flavour in a good way. I said to Andrew. Its weird taste like a donut batter. Absolutely loved them.

Andrew had the mild spicy chicken wings. With 2 sides corn salsa and slaw. His words were . Why haven't we been here until now and can we come back next week. He absolutely 💯 loved it.

I know I can rave on. But give credit where credit is due. The Lot is hidden little gen of Newcastle. Also has entertainment on weekends.

Parking can be a problem mid week. The Lot is wheelchair accessible. No disabled toilet or parking.

Also try the b**r garden. Stacked with locally crafted b**r from around Newcastle. I recommend the Ginger b**r
