A Farewell from Lifeworks Photography
I moved from Sydney to Melbourne 32 years ago to join my husband Peter in Lifeworks Photography.
Three decades later, after an incredible career, I have made the difficult decision to close Lifeworks at the end of the financial year on JUNE 27th.
Approaching my 60th birthday fills me with disbelief, yet gratitude. I am ready to embrace weekends free from work, after a lifetime of six-day weeks and lengthy hours.
Unfortunately, Peter has been unable to work for the past 22 years, but along the way I've had some incredibly awesome Lifeworks team members.
Since 2018, I've taken it on solo—and of course, we all went through the COVID era when we couldn't do anything.
It is time.
My heart swells with gratitude for the support my clients have given and the business they've brought. Many have become lifelong friends and are like family to me.
I'm eternally grateful for the connections I've made throughout the photography community both nationally and internationally, and the incredible friendships we've formed.
The role my clients, Lifeworks teammates, and industry friends have played in my career has been monumental, unforgettable, and deeply cherished.
Photography wasn't just my job—it's woven into the fabric of who I am, a deeply held passion. I'm profoundly thankful for the chance to turn this passion into a lifelong career, and your unwavering support throughout this journey is deeply appreciated.
To clear up some misconceptions: I am not retiring. In addition to Lifeworks, for the first time in three decades, I've taken on additional work. Over the past 16 months, I've had a part-time position as a Medical Photographer, who would have thought I’d blend my first career as a Nurse with photography! I've also been doing support work, which brings me great joy in helping people reclaim and live their best lives.
If it looks like I'm always out on trails—well, I'd like to be! However, I'm working fast and furious in between to make those adventures possible.
For me, this marks the end of an era at the end of June 2025. I've loved every second of it and couldn't have wished for a more brilliant career.
Thank you to all who read my emails the past two months and have sent me beautiful responses of how much they cherish portraits I have done for them, they truly melted me! Also a huge thanks to those who made contact to complete works that have been in a holding pattern, some from up to 10 years ago, I am very grateful.
Sending much love and huge hugs to you all!
See you on the trails 😉
