The story of life outside the city, and outside regional centres for that matter is really often overlooked. Country life is more than a move for a sea change.

Anyone following will know that my photos share the truth of rural Australia. Of the good times and those that test us. But adversity and challenge doesn’t necessarily mean ‘bad’ and it certainly doesn’t mean stereotypical hardship.

That’s the power of storytelling. Facing necessary change can happen with smiles, family and community, not just government intervention.

The Trusted news for Sydney & NSW Bush Summit gives a voice to local people, businesses and community leaders. The kind that are often spoken at or for, not questioned and included.

Thanks to Kelly White, Brad and family for being roped into another of my projects. As always, my work is only possible because of the wonderful people I know and meet along the way.

The power of light. And, the ocean.

I love the ocean on an overcast day. The way it seems aloof, yet ready to burst with stories.

I’d rather drive 30 minutes everywhere and wake up to this.

A bit of morning magic this week, reminding me of how lucky we are. I love where I live.

The Bee Drover. And, the power of black and white. Mesmerised by the mood and beauty of this shoot.

aka Th Bee Drover, is self-described as unpredictable, ambitious and gritty, which I think comes through in these images. Her ambition and resilience is striking. Some stories tell themselves, and it didn’t take much time to understand the connection Sophia has with both the bees and the land.

The way she talks, you know she lives and breathes her bees. They’ve just been moved to a faba bean crop close to North Star and are as happy as Sophia at the moment.

It’s an intense industry facing a fair few challenges at the moment but with business and strategy like The Bee Drover it seems to be in safe hands.

Earlier this week, I headed up to North Star for a shoot with for . Donning a bee suit and gloves certainly made using my camera an interesting experience. What an inspiring afternoon with Sophia, aka The Bee Drover, who is young, energetic and pushing ahead despite the many challenges facing the industry.

It was evident from the moment I first saw Sophia with her hives that she is innately connected to both the bees and the land. As a result, it was so very easy to capture the relationship she has with them and the pictures share the story effortlessly. Stay tuned for the black and whites, coming soon.

Always exciting to cross paths with vibrant and passionate people. You can catch the story in today’s Daily Telegraph.

If you’re looking to showcase your business with the world, I have some availability for photographic in the coming months.

90 years of Bush Bash Tennis. Community is coming together and giving back and earlier this month the Bingara Tennis Club celebrated a big anniversary of an event that defines exactly this.

Volunteers have been braving crisp June weekends for nine decades now to bring people together for fierce but friendly competition. These days, the event attracts return visitors from far and wide and brings life to the recently refurbished courts.

Of course, if you know Bingara you will know that it’s also an opportunity to give back to the town. In this case money to one of our most essential services - Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

It’s a certainty that you’ll see the same faces next year, both on the court and the sidelines.

Your family story deserves to be told, whatever chapter you’re in. Calm or chaos, the days you will one day miss.

The most beautiful thing is that that looks different for everyone.

Winter bookings available. Extended family sessions welcome.

North West: Bingara. Inverell. Tamworth. Armidale. Narrabri and beyond.
