YellowKorner is an international publisher of fine art photography, founded in 2006 with the goal of making high-quality, limited-edition art prints accessible to a wider audience through 80 physical galleries worldwide and an online store.

I'm delighted to announce that a number of my prints are now available with YellowKorner as part of their new 'Visions of Winter' print series release. I've included a link below in the comments and here are the images that are available as prints.

Last year the National Geographic Orion returned to the Mediterranean for the first time since 2017, offering journeys with fresh perspectives on one of the world's most storied regions.

These images of mine were taken on assignment for National Geographic Expeditions - Lindblad Expeditions and feature in the newly released travel catalogue that highlights memorable moments from those trips.

Getting a cover image - transiting the Corinth Canal - associated with that famous yellow rectangular border is always fun even if it's not the 'real thing' in terms of the actual NatGeo magazine!

My sincere thanks go to the marketing team at Lindblad Expeditions and to my talented and generous staff and crew colleagues on the NG Orion who made my job so much easier :-)

As I prepare to head south again in a few days here are some favourite images from my recent Antarctic trips working for National Geographic Expeditions / Lindblad Expeditions.
The fun mix of bird wildlife together with gorgeous ice is something that never gets 'old' photographically!

From a respectful whale watching distance onboard the National Geographic Resolution today we witnessed something straight from a David Attenborough nature documentary - the incredible co-operative behaviour of a pod of Type B1 Killer whales using a 'wave washing' hunting technique to prey on seals. It is rarely witnessed in person.

Only about a hundred of this species of killer whale are believed to exist. Using amazing problem-solving and communication skills, they are able to locate seals resting on ice floes, and then using teamwork, they create waves to wash the seals into the water.

The first two images show the whales spy hopping to gather information about the seal - it was a Weddell seal, their preferred prey species. After this the pod swam close together at high speed to create a large breaking wave aimed at the ice floe. They did this four times, each pass breaking apart the ice until with the last wave the seal was flung into the ocean - unfortunately my photo of the wave didn't quite show the seal - where it met its end and became food for the pod.

Note the giant petrels sitting idly by while watching the whole thing unfold, already aware they would move in for the seal carcass scraps once it was all over!

Some gorgeous light over the Xmas period onboard the National Geographic Resolution made for some nice simple images along the Antarctic Peninsula. When the light didn't cooperate I looked to black and white processing and experimental techniques for more creative photos. I'd love to know what you think!
