We had a brief stop at a very small village along the Sekonyer River. Such a simple life but, they are so happy washing clothes and bathing in the small stream which runs through the village. They were preparing for a festival making their decorations from the palm leaves.

An amazing journey, spending 3 days on the Sekonyer River through the Tanjung Puting National Park, living aboard a Klotok (wooden houseboat).
We made stops along the way at some of the feeding stations, even though there was plenty of wildlife to observe from the boat.

Station 1 in the Tanjung Putting National Park, Borneo

The stations are designed to supplement the food for the Orangutans. Rehabilitated Orangutans removed from captivity are released into these areas. It's a way to also monitor how they are going once released into the wild, when they come in to the station. Also many others come in when their food source is not plentiful.
Borneo Orangutans are not as orange as those found in Sumatra.

The big male is known as Roger. He was also super noisy when he spotted the Ranger coming in
