Milky Way rising over Fingal Beach, Port Stephens, NSW. 🗓️ 20 Jun 26.

Shooting with a 32% moon in the sky is tricky, it adds plenty of light to the night sky in a long exposure and makes for a challenging sky edit, but it also provides some awesome light to work with to capture foreground detail.

I’ve used the Sigma Australia 14mm f1.8 Art to capture this shot, such an amazing lens for sharpness and clarity 🙌🏻

📸 Single exposure: EOS R5 + Sigma 14mm f1.8 Art: 13 seconds F2.8 iSO 4000.

Absolute colour bomb this morning!
That floodlight was so bright and tricky to include, but my Canon R5 + Nisi Soft grad absolutely nailed the exposure in the one shot and I am stoked with the result.

After battling cloud for most of the night, I managed to grab a shot of the pillars as the Aurora peaked just after 10.30.

The blue beams were pretty cool, I hadn’t seen those during the previous Aurora events 🌌💙
