This year, I set out to be more creative. To tell more stories.

I had the privilege of stepping into a creative session led by a talented friend Sharmila Schumacher | Lifestyle & Wedding Photographer, and it reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place.

It wasn’t about chasing the perfect pose or creating a highlight reel. It was about slowing down long enough to notice the ordinary moments that become extraordinary later.

The morning coffee. A half-finished puzzle. Dancing in the living room. Quiet anticipation. Two people waiting for the biggest change of their lives.

That’s the kind of storytelling I want to keep creating.

Because years from now, these photographs won’t just remind you what you looked like.

They’ll remind you what it felt like.

When a new baby arrives, it isn’t just a newborn being welcomed.

A family is becoming something new.

A little boy becomes a big brother.
Two parents learn the rhythm of life with one more heartbeat.
A home grows just a little fuller.

That’s why my newborn sessions are never just about the baby. They’re about celebrating the family as a whole, and preserving the season that changed everyone. 🤍

As a photographer, I notice the light, the composition and the connection.

As a mum, I notice something else entirely.

I notice the expressions they’ll outgrow.
The faces they’ll pull.
The moments that feel ordinary now, but one day will feel like everything.

The beautiful portrait will be framed.

The silly photo is the one that makes it into the memory book. 🤍

I think my favourite thing about this session was the simplicity of it.

No elaborate styling.
No chasing the perfect sunset.
No pressure for everything to go to plan.

Just two people who genuinely love being together.

With rain in the forecast, Matt & Anastasia embraced whatever the evening gave us. We wandered the beach, chatted, laughed, and documented this beautiful season of life before everything changes.

Sometimes the simplest evenings become the ones you’ll treasure most.

What a beautiful thing it is when two besties become three. 🤍
