3 of the of the best photos captured of the aurora last night in Bullawa Creek out of what could be be almost 2000 photos that I'll put into a timelapse 😎 Gorgeous beams I have never seen in person before. Last one shows just how faint it was to begin with at 9pm, got pretty stunning at about 11pm! 🌌

Back in July I entered a few astro photos into the 2025 CWAS David Malin Awards. Since winners were notified in August, I thought I’d missed out… but last night, while reading through the winners’ email from the Parkes presentation, I was stunned to see my name listed!

I received “Photo Editor’s Pick” in the Solar System category for my shot of Saturn passing the Moon 🌙✨ — captured last September with my Celestron AVX mount and 8" SCT.

This image took 5 years of learning, patience, and persistence to finally achieve. Feeling honoured, proud, and beyond excited to have reached another step in my photography journey 🥳🥰!!

Frustrating that I couldn't stabilise the moon but working with what I got (still learning). A video of the total lunar eclipse on Monday 8/09/2025 from beginning at 1am to sunrise 😊. 5hrs compressed into 1 minute and 7 seconds 🤯.
