SEPTEMBER SUNSET SESSIONS 🤎

September is my favourite month of the year in photographer land. Golden sunsets, warmer weather & slightly longer days.

Winter sports are wrapping up, the days are getting longer & we’re slowly gaining some free time back.

I’ve opened my books to fit as many of you in as possible this month, because I know just how quickly the back end of the year fills up with school holidays, Christmas & everything in between.

HELLO SEPTEMBER 🤩

The days are getting warmer, the evenings are stretching out & those beautiful golden sunsets are entering their prime season.

September feels like the calm before the storm — before school holidays, Christmas preparations & all of the end-of-year festivities begin.

On Thursday, 20th August, I had the absolute honour of capturing Maddy, Chad & Paxton in the dreamy grass fields of the Upper Hunter. 🤎

I first had the privilege of capturing Maddy & Paxton back in December 2022, and then again in 2023. It’s been such a special thing to watch Paxton grow over the years and to now capture this next chapter of their story.

Maddy met Chad when we were all colleagues working in the mines. Not long after, we became friends, and since then I’ve watched these two overcome so many battles, grow together and become the best versions of themselves.

They’re hard-working, genuine, beautiful people, with their love for each other and their family at the heart of everything they do.

I’ll always feel incredibly honoured when clients invite me back to capture their special chapters. There’s something so beautiful about growing alongside families through my camera — it almost feels like I become a little part of their story, too. 🤎

On the 4th of August, in that beautiful afternoon golden light, I captured a few snaps of the little girl who made me a Mumma. 🤎

Just shy of her 9-month milestone, it felt really special to pause and reflect on the integral part she has played—not only in shaping me, but in shaping my photography journey too.

Pre-Bonnie, photography was just a hobby. Post-Bonnie, it means so much more.

It means capturing the real, raw emotions. Getting to know a family and being trusted to witness their genuine connection. It’s about creating a little time capsule of memories that families can look back on for years to come.

I feel so incredibly honoured to experience this beautiful thing called motherhood, but also to now understand just how precious growing, birthing and nurturing a little life truly is.

I think becoming a Mum has helped me see the beauty in all the little things—the things we might otherwise overlook. The tiny fingers and toes, wispy hair, cheeky smiles, cuddles, messy moments and all the beautiful in-between.

Of course, we can still capture those beautiful posed images for Grandma’s wall. But we can also capture them—exactly as they are in this season of life.

So here’s to you, Bonnie.

For all the light you’ve brought into my life, all the love you’ve given me, and all the valuable lessons you continue to teach me.

You’ve changed my world in more ways than I could ever put into words. 🤎
