Let’s talk prices.
Photographers who charge above average hear this a lot. That we cost an arm and a leg, that we're too expensive, that surely it shouldn't be this much when everyone is doing it tough right now.
Here's my honest answer. Not every photographer is for every family, and that is how it should be. You’ll find all different family photoshoot prices out there, and if you're on a tight budget right now, you absolutely should book someone who sits comfortably within it. No hard feelings at all.
But I'd love for you to understand why some of us charge more, because if you're anything like me, who believes life is really about the experiences we collect along the way, you'll know exactly what I mean.
✨ Charging more means I can show up for you differently. There's no other shoot booked later that afternoon, sometimes not even later that week, so when it's your turn you have all of me and nothing feels rushed.
✨ It means I can keep pouring back into the experience. When I'm not worrying about providing for my own family, I get to focus on the part that excites me most, which is giving you the very best of everything.
✨ It means I can truly be creative. Creativity flows when my mind isn't tangled up in money and business, and that space is what lets me create something bespoke for you rather than something that looks like 90% of your Instagram feed.
✨ It means I'm happier, and I really believe you feel that. Working with someone who loves what they do and who isn't stretched thin or stressed becomes part of the joy of the whole experience.
The families who aren't after the cheapest photographer, the ones who value experiences over things and the feeling of it all, they're my people.
I don't charge more to keep anyone out, but to be able to give families who DO choose me - my all.
