There's no place in Mount Gambier I prefer to take my camera than the Valley Lakes Conservation Park. Many of my photos on this page, including that gorgeous kookaburra in my profile pic, were taken there.

We're so lucky to have a spot like this in our backyard. :)

I took this photo of a willie wagtail harassing an eastern great egret at Tolmer Park in Bordertown this week.

This park is one of my favourite places to stop on the journey home from the Riverland with ducks and cormorants often by the creek, but this was the first time we'd seen an egret.

While trying to photograph it from a distance, I spooked it, so it flew up and into the tree above. It's there the willie wagtail started being a menace, and I captured this shot.

WATER FOR WILDLIFE

It’s going to be very hot tomorrow! Please put out water for local wildlife. A shallow dish in shade, with sticks/rocks to assist smaller animals is the best way to provide water.

If you see any heat stressed animals please call us on 0477 462 287

Had an awesome time shooting this event over the weekend. Good times!

The reality of the Kangaroo Island fires has been quite confronting.

More than a year on, skeletal remains of some of the hundreds of thousands of animals killed are still scattered throughout the island.

Plants have begun to sprout through the ashy soil, while many blackened trees are starting to become covered with green leaves once again.

It's been a year since fires devastated a large portion of Kangaroo Island, with the majority of the island's koala population dying in the process.

To see so many koalas thriving in the Hanson Bay area today was amazing, a true testament to the resilenence of nature.

Some footage from today's bushfire east of Lucindale.

More than 13,000 hectares have been burned so far, with reports of buildings and livestock being lost.

The CFS reported building fires in Tilleys Lane, Loechel Road and Roach Road in Lucindale.

Six water bombers have been filling up at Naracoorte Airport and heading west towards the fire, where 40 trucks and approximately 200 firefighters from across the state are helping to fight the blaze.

A massive thank you to fire crews who have done an incredible job by preventing further devastation for the township of Lucindale.
