It’s taken me a few days to think about what to write about this year’s Festival of Veteran’s Arts (FOVA). The third time I have attended since FOVA started in 2024 and each year it keeps getting better and better (massive credit to the huge amount of work put in by the team).
•
I did not expect to feel all the things I felt during this last week, but it just goes to show how special this event is, and how safe, inclusive and compassionate this community is!
•
For anyone with veteran links, who have been sitting on the fence about whether or not you should get involved, come and join in with all the events happening all around Aus, including FOVA 27 (I believe dates will be released soon!)

Shoutout to for the first 2 pics and capturing me in all of my vulnerability! Old me definitely would never have shared these, but the current (always growing) version of me acknowledges how much work it has taken to get me to where I am today.

Legends!!!!! Tomorrow morning 0800hrs Series 3 Episode 4 is live!

In this episode, I have the absolute pleasure of speaking with Steve “Brute” Rodgers.
Steve served as a Trooper in the Australian Special Air Service Regiment and completed a 12-month deployment in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. He shares his experience of going through SAS selection, his very first time on a plane — which he promptly parachuted out of — and an unforgettable lesson about the importance of water.

Steve also offers insight into his patrols in Vietnam, including a close encounter where his team was inadvertently discovered by the Viet Cong and much more!
