That mum guilt is absolutely relentless. Itâs something you hear about before you become a parent, but you donât truely understand the extent of it until you become a mother. The guilt makes you feel like the worst human in the world over literally anything. I used to feel a lot of guilt thinking I wasnât doing âenoughâ for their playtime or âenoughâ time to be the best mum I could be whilst also being a wife, running a business and trying to wash my hair once a weekđ But I want to switch your thinking around for a moment. Those mornings when youâre run off your feet and your little one just wants to play; so you give them some Tupperware to keep them occupied. To you, your just throwing them anything so you can get s**t done, BUT to them they are playing cooking in the kitchen with mummy!
Those times youâre trying to get ready to get out the door; putting on your makeup and the toddler wants your attention, you give them a makeup brush and tell them to do makeup- to you your frustrated, stressed and just need to look half alive to get out of the house. BUT to them they are playing makeovers with you!
Those afternoons where you play on the same swing at the same old park- the guilt sets in that you donât take them somewhere new. But in your childrenâs eyes; they are on their daily adventure with mum!
Those nights you read them the same goddamn Peppa Pig book (that you know better than the menu at McDonaldâsđ), to you itâs the same bloody book, BUT to them itâs filling their mind with their favourite stories ready for them to dream đ„° So those times you feel like itâs Groundhog Day, the Mum guilt sets in and you think youâre not doing âenoughâ, look at the day through your childâs eyes! Then youâll realise how bloody amazing, adventurous and fun of a mum you really aređđ»
