Bannisters by the Sea is a lovely hotel at Mollymook on the South Coast (about 2.5hrs drive from Sydney). It’s a great place to stay with very luxurious amenities. Our room had a whirlpool bath on the balcony, there’s an amazing infiniti pool that looks over the ocean and it’s home to Rick Steins Restuarant. We stayed here for our ‘Babymoon’ and they did a special package that included a massages and a few other things. Highly recommended for anyone expecting! 🤰👶=👍.

Trial Bay Gaol is well worth the visit if you’re heading up the Mid North Coast. Built in 1877 to house prisoners halfway between Brisbane and Sydney, it was meant to provide labour to build a large breakwall to protect ships in Trial Bay. Unfortunately the break wall only ended up 1/7th of the size intended, and the gaol eventually closed down. Interestingly it opened back up in WWI and WWII to intern ‘enemy aliens’ (mainly Germans). Since 1947 it’s been a heritage reserve, open to the public for tours and surrounded by a national park campground.

Known to most for it’s long coastal jetty, historic Catherine Hill Bay is actually the oldest continuous settlement in Lake Macquarie. The town was first settled in 1865 but under the name ‘Cowper’. It was changed to Catherine Hill Bay in 1867 to commemorate a ship of the same name that ran aground nearby.

It’s been a lovely cold winters day in the Blue Mountains. Very windy so didn’t fly very high or far away.

A little peak around the beautiful St Thomas Church in Newhey, Lancashire 🇬🇧. My wife was baptised here and her parents were also married here. So many family memories. I have been to the UK three times and today is probably the most blue sky I’ve seen. Love it here and love taking shots like this and seeing familiar places in a new light.
