One day, you're going to schedule a photoshoot and even though you scheduled it at the perfect time of day, you have the perfect outfits, and you've thought of everything - Your baby is going to cry!
It's VERY Important that you not leave disheartened and trust the process...
Babies cry - That's normal!
And I can still create magic!
Here are a few tips for you photoshoot:
🤍 Choose an experienced photographer who can pivot and allow time for settling, feeding, changing, cuddles & playtime. (👋🏻 14 years here with babies of all ages!)
🤍 Choose outfits & accessories that are comfortable and that wont annoy your baby - Headbands and bonnets are cute - but if your baby is upset wearing them - let's ditch them for the time being, get some happy shots and then see if we can sneak them back on later.
🤍 Bring snacks - an extra bit of milk (even if it's not feed time) or some quick snacks might just be the thing that settles your bub. It also gives them 5 minutes to check me out and know I'm not a danger.
🤍 Bring their special toy - Yes; I'm taking about that ugly, smelly thing they drag around with them everywhere - If that needs to be in a few photos - so be it - You'll thank me later when it's a thing of the past - and babies (and kids!) love it when their teddy 'takes the photo' or plays peek a boo!
🤍 Relax! and go with the flow! I always setup a few different things & have an idea of how the perfect session will go, but you know what - I have a million backup plans and I'm never inconvenienced by a few tears and an extra cuddle. Happy baby = happy photographer and this should mean a happy mum!
