We were absolutely blown away by Natalie from Ace Photography! Honestly, we barely even noticed she was there on the night, which is such a skill in itself, but she managed to capture every detail, laugh, and bit of energy from my birthday. The photos are just stunning; crisp, vibrant, and full of life. I’m especially grateful for the couple of shots she suggested setting up, because they turned out to be absolute favourites. On a cold June evening at the local RSL, something unexpected happened—I was awarded Sole Trader of the Year at the Local Business Awards in the Highlands. Even as I write this, it still feels a little surreal! The night was already special, getting dressed up and surrounded by many incredible businesses and passionate people in our community. I was just proud to be nominated alongside such inspiring small business owners. I certainly didn’t expect to win, so I was completely shocked when my name was called. My heart was pounding as I walked to the stage, and I think I had the biggest smile on my face for the rest of the night! This award means so much to me. Running a small business can be tough, especially as a sole trader. It’s a lot of late nights, juggling all the moving parts, and putting your heart into every job. But it’s also incredibly rewarding, and moments like this remind me why I do what I do. To everyone who has supported my photography business—whether you’ve booked a shoot, followed along on social media, referred a friend, or cheered me on—thank you. You’ve helped me grow this little dream of mine into something I’m truly proud of. This award isn’t just for me. It’s for every small business owner who shows up, keeps going, and gives it their all. I’m so grateful to be part of such a vibrant, supportive local business community. Here’s to the next chapter—bigger dreams, more beautiful moments captured, and continuing to do what I love!
