The most majestic Wobbegong Shark ! We have quite a few of these guys in the bay , usually having a sleep in the day and in late afternoon or when fish scraps are about they get mobile , I find they slide up to you quite close and can unintentionally scare the bajeezuz out of you ! , this one was happily following me about and stopping below me regularly , which enabled me to get the smiley face shot . Though normally harmless to humans they have been known to bite and bite like a pitbull they do ! Do not go waving any limbs closely in front of them as their eyesight is poor and they may snap and if they lock with their needle like backward facing teeth , they usually wont let go , game over for wobbegong mouth dwellers !
They give birth to live pups and tho I have seen pups I have never seen a birth and would love to and film it but I'm guessing it happens at night. I have also noticed that recently some of the local wobbies are getting rather large , so watch where you put those hands and feeties !
