Photo Competition/Critique night

Theme - Can’t stand the weather

Participating members were asked to capture their interpretation of the chosen theme then print their image for judging.

Our judge this month is local photographer Urs Buhlman
Urs is a top commercial advertising and conceptual photographer with decades of experience across 5 countries. He’s recognized by the AIPP and industry as a leader, known for strong visual style and communication. He also founded Bear Stock, a boutique rights-managed stock library specialising in backgrounds and backplates for the global transportation market, and his conceptual work is represented in 4 international stock libraries.

Please come along for the live judging and hopefully be inspired by the images taken by your club mates.

Something exciting is coming to Bega on Saturday 17 October Patricia Piccinini’s hot air balloon sculptures, Skywhale and Skywhalepapa will slowly come to life as they inflate in the early morning before taking to the skies at sunrise.

Cameras and Coffee 📷☕️
Saturday 10th October | 7:30am | Eden

We’ll be meeting in the carpark where the public toilets are on Princes Hwy, opposite Eden Gateway Holiday Park.

From there we’ll take an easy walk along the Lake Curalo Boardwalk to capture beautiful lake views, wildlife, and nature along the way.

After the walk we’ll head to Fig Cafe and Bar at 128 Imlay Street for coffee and a bite to eat.

All skill levels welcome — even if you only have a mobile phone.
If you’re interested in becoming a member or just have a general interest in photography, please come along and join us.

Bega Streetlight Festival 2026

A great night for the Sapphire Snappers Camera Club at the Bega Streetlight Festival on Friday.

It was the first time using our display stands, and we managed to have enough members contribute images to fill 4 stands, along with our club comp images projected on the big screen.

We had a great deal of interest from festival goers and met some really lovely people along the way.

Thanks to all the Snappers who placed their images on display, popped in for a chat, and helped get the word out about the camera club.

Special thanks to Olivia for helping pack everything up, and to Jenny for transporting the stands even though she had no voice on the night and couldn’t stay for the event. She also managed to come back to collect the stands at the end of the night. You have a true kind heart, Jenny. 🫶

Also sending a big thank you to the Bega Chamber of Commerce for organizing the vacant shop for our little exhibition, and to South East Arts and Bega Valley Council for organizing such a great event. All the hard work was very much appreciated.

Looking forward to next year. ✌️💗
