Went for a little day trip up to Warburton to see the redwood forest up there.
It's been a fair while since I last went, but I got to spend a bit of time to wander around and check it all out.

Had some spare time to kill while at work a few days ago. I had my camera with me, so I went for a wander through the nearby train graveyard at the Newport Workshops.

Was pretty interesting wandering through them all and checking them out. I wanted to get into the sheds but all the doors were locked, but I did find one with an open window so I could get a look in and saw all the old trams and bus in there.

The old V/Line railmotor was pretty cool, only one of the two had an open door to get in, I didn't stay long though as it was really hot inside.

There are heaps of old Hitachi's around and they're all open, apart from a few missing panels and being covered in graffiti they weren't too bad.

While at the Supercars, this Aston Martin was racing in the Tassie Tin Top category.

I'm a sucker for an Aston Martin but this car looked the best, had the best livery and the sound it made........ oooof

Easily my favourite car of the day 😅

While down in Tassie, I got to go see the Supercars racing at Symmons Plains, so have a bit of car spam lol

Blue Chicken!

Made a stop over at the Cataract Gorge, which is a short drive out of Launceston (5-10min) it's close enough that you could even walk there.

There's lots of local wildlife to see there like Koalas, Echidnas, Wallaby's, and Peacocks.

We didn't get to see any of the others, but there were about 3 peacocks freely wandering around the park area which was cool to see, never seen them in the wild before.

Lady Barron Falls

If you're feeling energetic and up for a hike, while visiting the Russell and Horseshoe Falls, you can continue on to the Lady Barron Falls.

The walk is about an extra hour and a half return and takes you through the national park. While on the walk you might get a chance to see some local wildlife, we didn't see much but did get to see some Yellow tailed Black Cockatoos.

The Horseshoe Falls.

This one sits a further 15min walk above the Russell Falls, the walk is a bit more difficult but well worth it.

Another popular waterfall in Tassie: The Russell Falls.

This one is about an hours drive from Hobart with a short and easy 15 minute walk from the main carpark.

It's quite a large waterfall with a few more just above it and from standing on the viewing platform you'll get covered in spray from the falls.

At the time there was no one else there when I arrived so had the whole platform to myself, but of course, as soon as I set up half the city showed up 🤣
