Here’s something a little different from the science and technology work we usually capture.

This week we teamed up with to photograph their gymnasts, and decided to take things in a more artistic direction with coloured light trails and smoke effects.

The talent and strength from these athletes was incredible to watch.

Our backs hurt just looking at some of these moves.

One of Dr Dinesh Palipana’s most powerful moments as a doctor came when a patient with disability told him: “I’m so glad you’re my doctor tonight, because I know you’ll understand.”

For Dinesh, it speaks to a larger issue in healthcare - many medical professionals still don’t know how to properly support and treat people with disability.

A few months ago, disability advocate and Sam O'Reilly travelled around Australia interviewing people with lived experience or expertise in the disability space for Building Inclusion, a podcast produced by for .

It was a fantastic journey, filled with 90s roadtrip songs, beautiful scenery and meeting amazing people with great stories, experiences and shared ideas on how to make the country a better place for people with disabilities.

You'll laugh, you'll ponder and maybe even shed a tear or two.

The last episode of ‘Building Inclusion - Australia’s Disability Strategy’ podcast is out today.

When Dr Dinesh Palipana was at medical school, a supervisor told him patients wouldn’t take him seriously because of his disability.

But he says not once has a patient failed to trust him with their care. The barriers, he says, came from the attitudes within the system - not from the community.

Josh is a student who is hard of hearing at Toowong State School, a bilingual school where students learn in both English and Auslan.

He said that at Toowong, there is a greater awareness of disability, and for him, this means teachers understand how to use FM microphones so he can learn in an accessible and effective way.
