𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗗𝗮𝘆. ❤️

Some friendships have a wonderful way of picking up exactly where they left off.

Life gets busy. Businesses grow. People move. Months can pass between catch-ups.

But the friendships that really matter don't seem to notice.

You sit down together, and within minutes it's as though no time has passed at all. There's no pressure, no guilt - just shared history, trust and the comfort of knowing you've always got each other.

Looking through these photos, I couldn't help but laugh... somehow I'm standing on the right-hand side in every single one! 😂 Completely unplanned, but apparently that's just where I belong.

To the women who have walked beside me through different seasons of my life... thank you. You know who you are. ❤️

There are lots of lovely things clients say after a photoshoot.

They tell me they love their images😍

They tell me they felt comfortable in front of the camera😎

They tell me the experience was easier than they expected😜

And I genuinely love hearing all of those things.

But recently, one client said something a little different.

After her branding session, Jacquelina wrote:

51 today 🎈

At this point in life, I’ve survived low-rise jeans,
dial-up internet,
burning CDs for road trips,
plucking my eyebrows into oblivion,
and taking photos on actual film… where you had absolutely no idea how they turned out until they came back from the chemist 😅

Which honestly feels slightly ironic considering I became a photographer in the digital age.

And somehow…
I think I’m actually getting better with age, wrinkles and all

Or maybe just better at caring less.

Either way, I’ll take it 🤍

Today it's 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝘿𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙇𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩...

Which is a polite way of saying
Photographers everywhere are quietly thinking,
"See.... this is why light matters" 😌

Because the difference between
"it's fine" and "I love it"
is often just the light ✨

(it's kind of why photographers are a little obsessed with it!!😅)

Showing up on line shouldn't feel like a full on emotional event every time you open Instagram.

If your current "content strategy" is cropping the same photo 14 different ways....

it might not be a motivational problem.

You might just not have the right photos yet.

17-year-old me had a very simplified version of what this would look like.

Current me knows… there are a few more moving parts 😅

But somewhere along the way - between the client shoots, the behind-the-scenes work, and all the things no one tells you about - I actually became the thing I once wanted.

I just don’t always stop and acknowledge it.

And after chatting with so many women lately who are building something of their own… it felt like the right time to pause and reflect on that a little.

So I wrote a blog about it.

It’s a bit more personal than usual - but if you’re in that “working towards it” phase, I think it’ll hit home.
