Some lovely birds from a walk around Royal Botanic Gardens Olinda (old Rhododendron Gardens) with the Laughing Kookaburra being so close to where we had lunch. Also spotted a Lyrebird, Eastern Spinebill, Fairy Wren and Raven just to name a few.
No matter what time of the year we visit RGB Olinda, there is so much to see and enjoy, hope you do too.

Best impromptu day with photo buddy Diana as we wandered the amazing world of William Ricketts at his Sanctuary in the Dandenong Ranges. It has been closed to the public since June 2021 when an almighty storm caused the tall trees to reek havoc with extensive damage to the sculptures and buildings, reopening on Wednesday 5 August, 2026. There are still some areas under re-construction and will be opened in stages as they are repaired.

A beautiful presentation of William Ricketts’ unique sculptural ceramic forms and his assimilation with nature - amazing to see the size of some of the works of art and I believe all fired in a kiln at the property. You can also see where the repairs have been completed, guess it is lucky that so much still remains after the storm. William was born in 1934 and died in 1993, age 94.

This beautiful sanctuary, meanders through the ferns and gullies of the forest creating a space to just enjoy! Thanks Diana for organising.

Lovely couple of days spent out and about near Bendigo finding the smaller things in life. Very happy to see the Greenhood Orchids (Pterostylis) in abundance and Drosera (or Sundews), showing off the diamond-like glitters that make this little hungry carnivorous plant so appealing to the insects.

Central Victoria is so very beautiful and always something to see and photograph no matter what time of the year you venture out. Enjoy!.

Thanks H&A for sharing, breakfast, lunch and dinners xx.
