Aurora Australis 20th January 2026 shot from my front verandah. With a local hill in the foreground, a range of hills beyond that, a nearby streetlight plus light pollution from town, I wasn't sure how this would go. All things considered, I was pretty happy with the result.

Recently, I was delighted to attend the opening night of the newly installed Silo Illumination Projection on two of the Sea Lake silos.

Created by Illuminart, it consists of a 25 minute nightly light show depicting local history, seasonal landscapes and farming practices, wildlife, flora, tourism, Lake Tyrrell, salt harvesting, and the famous night skies. The show is professionally narrated and includes a mix of still images, videos and animations. The resultant show exceeded my already high expectations and I recommend it to all.

The two images on the first frame are mine. All other projected images shown here are by locals and other photographers. It was very windy and extremely dusty the night of my visit so all the frames here were taken on my iPhone rather than my DSLR.

Very excited to share that one of my images has been selected for the 2025 RM Williams Outback Calendar!

The occasion was the annual harvest picnic where the small farming community of Murra Warra comes together for a shared meal and catch up at the local hall. As the sun drew closer to the horizon, these boys entertained themselves with 'backyard' cricket and I took the opportunity to capture this silhouette photo of a very Aussie rural scene.
