Inspired by the photographs has been posting recently, recreating outdoor scenes in miniature while in isolation, and I held our own photoshoot.

We spent an entire day setting up 12 different scenes, using things that we had around the house.

This is a post apocalyptic desert landscape using a modified car created inspired by Mad Max. Flour was used to create a desert sand and rocks look.

It was so enjoyable working in this way, and seeing what we could create just with what we had to hand. We have since ordered some small 'model train people' ahead of our next photoshoot day.

Shot on a Mamiya C330 with Lomography Earl Grey film

This is an X-Wing emerging from the clouds. The clouds were made using soft toy filling, and lit from the side with an LED panel, from behind with a globe and above with another lamp.

This was our astronaut walking on Mars scene, using one of the Lego minifigs from the Apollo11 lunar lander set. The landscape was created using brown sugar, and the background with scrunched brown paper.

Inspired by the photographs has been posting recently, recreating outdoor scenes in miniature while in isolation, and I held our own photoshoot. We spent an entire day setting up 12 different scenes, using things that we had around the house.

This is 'me' as a lego mini-fig, out on a photographic adventure. We used brown sugar and some spices from the pantry and some bits of bark from the garden to create the landscape for this scene.

I forgot to take a behind the scenes shot showing the full setup including lighting on this one, so I've included a shot that shows how we used a textured painted background, that we had projected a blue lamp onto to create the sky.

It was so enjoyable working in this way, and seeing what we could create just with what we had to hand. We have since ordered some small 'model train people' ahead of our next photoshoot day.

Found the talented using her LED hoolahoop this evening, she was generous of her time to participate in these pictures. We experimented with a range of different moves and exposure times to achieve these amazing results.

A bit hit and miss with the clouds, but managed to get a few shots with a small part of the milkyway coming through the clouds, before it disappeared again.

It was a fun evening, shooting alongside a number of strangers who all have the same interests as me.

Happy New Year!

Last night and I setup our cameras and tripods on the Salmon Street overpass a little before midnight, hoping it would be a good vantage point to watch the fireworks and photograph them with car light trails on the freeway below. I think we can call this a success, now just to wait for Ben to finish his rolls of film to see what he managed to capture too.
