Expecting a baby? 💛

One of the questions I get asked all the time is, ‘when should I book in for newborn photos?’

Newborn sessions are best booked while you’re pregnant, ideally around your 2nd trimester.
I only take a limited number of newborn bookings each month, so booking early means you don’t miss out.

All sessions are in-home, calm, and baby-led, with plenty of time to pause where needed.

I’ve worked hard over the years on my skills as a photographer, especially when it comes to taking newborn photos.
For a long time, my work as a newborn photographer was good. Fine. Nothing wrong with it. But I constantly felt like something was missing.

So I learned. I went to workshops. I worked with mentors. I practiced any chance I could. I invested in myself.

And now? This is the result.

Photos that are simple yet beautiful.

I’m genuinely proud of the newborn photos I deliver. They feel calm and timeless and that was my goal all along.

No fancy set-up. I’ve stripped it back because it’s not about all the stuff. It’s about you, your family and your newborn. Because that’s what truly matters. 🤍

One of the greatest compliments as a photographer is when families return and trust me once again to pause time with them.

It had been around three years since I last photographed this family, so being invited back to capture their maternity photos and see how they’ve grown, was pretty special.

It honestly felt more like hanging out with old friends than a photo session. How lucky am I 🤍

Every time I photograph a new baby, I can’t help but have memories from when my own kids were newborns.

The little sounds and movements they make bring back so many memories.

And then I find myself wondering where the time has gone.

I’m busy planning Mia’s 12th Birthday party yet I remember taking newborn photos of her and it feels like last week.

Just another reminder of how important all photos are but especially newborn photos. Time will pass and they’ll never be this little again.

Gosh I love the extra time with them in the school holidays.

Sure, they argue more, make a mess and are always hungry but I still love it.
I love the break in routine & hearing them say, “I’m bored.”
I love doing all the random things we’d otherwise never get to … like flying kites along the beach on a Sunday evening 💕

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again but black and white photos will always have my heart.

Distractions are stripped away. The focus isn’t on colour, but on the emotion and the story captured in that moment.

To me, it’s the simplicity of them that I can’t help but love and these family photos are the perfect example of that.
