Last year, I had the chance to photograph the exhibition launch of “Our People, Their Stories” — a powerful living museum that brings communities together through storytelling.
Every story shared, every face photographed, carries generations of memory, culture, and resilience. This exhibition isn’t just about the past — it’s about keeping the spirit of people alive and making sure those stories continue to echo into future generations.
Honored to have witnessed it through my lens. If you would like to watch some of these incredible stories you can do so here: https://opts.org.au or go to vema.com.au to read the latest article

✨Special moments, captured forever ✨
Something truly extraordinay happened at Alexander’s Christening. As the priest gently poured water over Alexander, a soft cross took shape in the final photo — unplanned and natural, but undeniably special. What an amazing experience to witness this through my lense and capture in a photograph.
These aren’t just pictures — they’re precious memories you’ll cherish with your family for a lifetime, and will be passed down for future generations as your legacy.

Golden hour isn’t just a time of day, in these christening photos, it becomes a metaphor. Soft beams of light fall like grace, illuminating tiny hands and hopeful faces. As an artistic lens, the natural light reveals glowy and peaceful moments. These light filled moments are captured naturally and filled with love, a legacy that will be shared for many generations to come.

Fresh from the blessed water and wrapped in love. These little twin angels, newly christened and surrrounded by generations of strong, beautiful women - each one adding a layer of life, tradition and faith to this special moment. Captured in the most natural way for this amazing family.

What shape is the water making on the child's forehead?

During the Immersion part of the Baptism ceremony, the neophyte is immersed in the Baptismal Font three times: "In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit". This part of the ceremony symbolises Jesus's Tomb (The Baptismal Font) and Resurrection, and is followed by the child placed on a white cloth in the Godparent's arms.

On this occasion, during the third Immersion, a cross shaped from water was reflected on baby Alexander's forehead. Such a beautiful moment to photograph, one that I will always remember.

I feel so honoured and thank you from my heart, to all the amazing families who have chosen me to photograph such meaningful occasions.

What do these photographs have in common? They are real, natural and unposed moments, photographed with love. Whether they are the radiant and proud smiles of grandparents, or parents holding their child's hand and they take their first step, these fleeting moments reflect the essence of the special Christening day.

💕A brother’s unconditional love is priceless. In these beautiful moments captured, you can see how much Ollie looks up to his older brother Christian, holding his hand, guiding him and protecting him… and they also have fun so much together. What a special bond they share! 💕

My favourite part of the christening ceremony is called dancing with the angels. The godparent (also known as 'anadochos' in Greek, which means 'to carry or to receive') holds the newly baptised child and is led three times around the baptismal font.
This is an act of rejoicing with the angels and those who are present at the ceremony. As you can see in these photos, beautiful light fills the church during this time. Such a precious and symbolic event to witness and photograph. Here are some of my 'dancing with the angels' photos.
