From 6 years ago on a trip in WA. Awesome place

My first effort at creating star trails, combined with a bit of light painting at wave rock. This is a combination of about 80 separate images taken at f3.5 and a 45 second exposure then I've lit the rock using a flashgun that I'm holding in my right hand to get the silhouette. (Tonnes o fun!)

One of the most inspiring women I know has been working on a self crafted project to document the ancient birthing traditions in some of the most remote indigenous communities in the world. She has worked with tribes from Africa to PNG and many other places besides, all self funded. The latest and most ambitious project will find her implanting herself with the women of the Nenets tribe in Siberia for 3 months as they cross the Tundra as they have for hundreds of years. She is aiming to document the traditions surrounding pregnancy and birth in one of the harshest environments on the planet.
Any help, however small, you can offer to this project will make a difference and there are some great rewards on offer if you are able to donate a bit more.

Please share this post to reach as many people as possible to help make this important project happen! Thanks!

A rare visual photographic documentation of a vanishing way of life: pregnancy and childbirth amongst Nenets women in Siberia

Phildavisonphotography.com is closing down
Hi All, As you know I've not been very active on my website for a long time, mainly because I have not taking too many photos recently!
The time has come to renew my subscription for the website and I cant justify spending another few hundred bucks on keeping it open for another year so I'm going to let it go. Thank you for reading the blog, I've had some great adventures and am really glad that so many people followed along with me. Keep your eyes on the page from time to time though as I'll still be posting shots up there.
All the best, Phil
