Here's a little glimpse at a personal project that has given me some joy during isolation.

I spent the last couple of weeks revisiting music that has inspired/influenced me in some way or other, during my lifetime.

100 album covers, over 10 days.

T'was such an enjoyable experience revisiting these little gems, that I decided to cap it all off with a little animation.
(There's a certain visual nod to the 90's rave fliers that teenage me covered my bedroom walls with).

I feel love.

Enjoy x

During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, I posted 10 album covers a day, on Facebook, over a period of 10 days, to share the albums that have influenced or inspire...

ISOLATED PLACES / INHABITED SPACES

Gripped by uncertainty,
Crippled by fear,
Stuck in a landslide,
Finding comfort in beer.

When the black dog comes barking,
Steer clear of its bite,
Those jaws can lock hard,
Most ferocious & tight.

Should you feel you’re in a hole,
In the dark or alone,
Please, always remember,
To pick up the phone.

Pop me on speed dial,
For when you feel flat,
Then you’ll know where to find me,
Number one's where I'm at.

ISOLATED PLACES / INHABITED SPACES

During these unsettling times of confinement and uncertainty, beneath the eerily quiet streets, the fear and the sickness, there is an underlying sense of peace. The world has a chance to slow down and reflect on life, from within the safety of their own castle walls.

ISOLATED PLACES / INHABITED SPACES

Staring at four walls,
High up in a tower,
Following the rules,
Relinquishing freedom and power.

Trapped in our homes,
Rarely able to leave,
We quickly lose patience,
But forget we still breathe.

There may be disparity,
In the spaces we dwell,
But what we share in common,
Is a need to stay well.

Resilience is integral,
Try not to lose sight,
We’re in this together,
So don’t give up the fight.

This invisible enemy,
Won’t threaten forever,
So, chin up, stay positive,
Stay home & be clever.

ISOLATED PLACES / INHABITED SPACES

Shimmering light,
A lonesome trail,
A split second past,
Silence prevails.

Essential errands,
Dictate the street,
A work trip, exercise,
Or something to eat.

A solitary light,
Shows life in a home,
I hope they are safe,
And far from alone.

United with pain,
Our senses awaken,
In a flash of second,
Normality was taken.

But I can’t help but feel,
As quick as it was gone,
A better life is coming,
Where we’ll all belong.

ISOLATED PLACES / INHABITED SPACES

Passion and hobbies,
Give us something to do,
When the lights go out,
And you feel kind of blue.

Tucked away in solitude,
I value my safe haven,
My home is my fortress,
A place of peace and creation.

Take your foot off the gas,
Be mindful and reflect,
It’s time to slow things down,
Show peace, love and respect.

In these difficult times,
If you still feel the fear,
I’ll spare you some time,
Help you shift up a gear.

To my friends who are struggling,
Know this to be true,
Be it day or night,
I’ll leave a light on for you.

Like a Bat-signal, EY Australia rearranged their Melbourne HQ's blinds last weekend for Movember Australia as a call-out for awareness during campaign month.

Last Sunday, I once again had the honour to shoot this phenomenal global event, on the back of a motorcycle in Melbourne, Australia. The event takes part in hundreds of cities all over the world on the same day (totaling 678 this year).

In case you've not heard of it, 'The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride' is a global motorcycle fund-raising event, raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer research and men's mental health programs on behalf of Charity Partner, the Movember Foundation.
Hundreds of men and women, dress up in their most dapper glad rags and take to the streets on their bikes for a fun day out.

What's also very exciting is the launch of next May. Keep an eye out for that one if you are into your cars!

Manchester – Such an incredible city that's steeped in history, art, music & culture, with bags of character. I hadn't visited in about 20 odd years, so it was great to see how it had been rebuilt after the 1996 bombings. Although hugely devastating for most, the bombing has however been viewed by some as a 'catalyst' for starting the city's mass regeneration, turning Manchester into a modern British "powerhouse" city with above national average economic growth in the 23 years following the bombing.

The juxtaposition of old industrial & gothic architecture sitting alongside ultra-modern reflective glass structures was something of great beauty & fascination for me. The city holds something quintessentially British in feel, yet you could almost mistake it for NYC in places. I just wish I'd had longer...
