Not petting Mei gatekeep these shots from last weekends Montsalvat shoot. 👀

First of a few, this shoot was everything I needed. I’ve been feeling a bit flat and stale in my work but also incredibly burnt out from work over the holiday season that this shoot was a soft request with no pre-planning from either of us, and starting with me getting to weather my costume for Elain.

While I was building this Ciri, I spent a lot of time in-game getting references while she’s travelling through Crookback Bog that that icky blue-green colour palette felt only natural for these shots.

🩸 Ares, Hades 🩸

Applied for the TGX comp so we’re back to Ares for a little while - making a few little fixes to make him comp appropriate. I’m suuuuper hard on myself and set a level for when I’m making something for a comp; Ares was not intended for a comp when I first made him but there’s no harm in trying and gathering experience and feedback.

(Vi is still happening, she’s just getting out on hold as I’m still awaiting a shipping confirmation and do not have the mental capacity for gauntlet building around work hours currently 🥲)

🔥 Zuko

Twenty years ago, Avatar aired for the first time. I was 12 years old, watching this kid on tv before heading to school, completely obsessed with the first book (being free to air, we never got more than the first season). Little did I know how much of a hold this “little cartoon” would have on me later in life and how much it would change me.

Here’s to the “not as a big of a jerk as you could have been” Fire Lord and rest of Team Avatar. ❤️

🥊 WIP; Vi

Thigh guard pieces are down but needs a little heat shaping and gap filling, with a final Dremel pass. And the chest piece needs the straps sewn and attached before we go any further.

Feeling good about this one, but we’re not going to have her ready for TGX. Between a collection of home sicknesses and burn out as well as no shipping notification for a wig, it’s just not going to happen. The build continues, just for a later date :)

Sai 🔪

You could -almost- call this a wardrobe cosplay. The wig, Yuffie’s. Pants, Noctis. Belt, Prompto. Headband, borrowed. Pouch, Hiccup.
Everything else was out together in 12 hours, but my favourite pieces were the crane I painted on the back and the tiny little hand embroidered flowers that .n did so we could cosplay together, matching to their Ino 🥹❤️

Breath of the Wild

Unplanned, run and go shoot during my Smash weekend in 2023 had me FINALLY getting to work with these two again. Funnily enough, the only other out of con shoot we’ve done was also Zelda, way back in 2018. 🫣

New project time!

ICYMI over the last week or so, I’ve started work on Vi - this fit has been a form of brainrot since the trailer launched and with the statue being released I’ve finally got full body references for A) crafting and B) a build book. 👀

Aiming for TGX, but we’ll see how we go as I’m not expecting the wig to be shipped in time. If not TGX, she’ll be ready of OzCC. 🙏🏻

And yes, gauntlets will be happening to. 🫡

I keep seeing people making or have already finished their Witcher IV fits and I’m clutching at the bars of my cage wanting to start my own. Though as much as I want to, I’ll wait for final versions before I commit so much time and money into a build. 👀

🐉 Hiccup; HTTYD2

Another throwback tonight with my Hiccup. Another costume with a remake, V2 was built in the first three months of living in Melbourne back in 2019.

Made with a roll of Reject Shop foam, a packet of kids craft foam sheets and a handful of magnets, this build kept me sane and taught me a lot in terms of crafting.

While this one won’t be getting another remake, I do still have all the parts and thinking I might rewear it to a con this year; who knows. 👀

It’s been 8 years since I first made Lightning, and 6 years since the remake, and I think it’s almost time to revisit her again. 👀

I never finished XIII - I got locked into the battle with Alexander and was way underpowered. I gave up and never want back to it, opting to finish XIII-2 instead but this initial version of Lightning has always been my favourite fit.

Nemesis & Ares

Hadessss - if I wish for anything in 2025, it’s a playable Hades 2 (I’m a console pleb, leave me be). For now, I’ll vicariously through PAX memories and getting to rewear Ares with Nadia and her incredible Nemesis. 🥰

Sammie left us after we finished shooting Vi to head back and change into Riven with maybe 90 minutes in between shoots - I’m still in awe at the quick change.

(Riven default will always be Battle Bunny in my mind - thanks early cos community haha)
