Helloho everyone, it's been a minute, Happy New Year and all that (if you can still say that in February).

I started the year with a shoot at Red Stitch: The Actors' Theatre who are once again producing fantastic thought provoking works in the Melbourne theatre scene. Their production of Sweet Phoebe by Michael Gow is a whole meal - starter, main course and a bitter sweet desert in one 70 minute serve.

Red Stitch: The Actors' Theatre have begun their year with something really special, Hir by Taylor Mac is as current and important as it is a joy to watch.

This is The Age review with my production photography. Perhaps go and see the play first to stop finding out too much in advance! ;)

Anisha and I had a super fun shoot the other day using the great Melbourne weather to our advantage and getting her hair swooshing in just the right way! 😆 Anisha wanted some classic style headshots and some shots that showed more of her personality and as you can see, she nailed it!

The weather might be variable but there's still lots of opportunities to get a great new set of images for your portfolio, whether you're an actor, professional, searching for opportunities or just want to look good on Facebook!

Red Stitch: The Actors' Theatre latest work, The Realistic Jones, is an existentialist work which is no mean feat to perform or to watch! But it is entirely enjoyable, poignant and generous in it's richly layered language. Visually it's also spectacular and I particularly enjoyed the challenge of shooting Brownyn Pringle’s dark and atmospheric lighting states. Check out the review in The Age - theage.com.au with a couple of my publicity snaps too!

Will Eno has a gift for finding the peculiar in the ordinary, a pull towards exploring big questions through small lives.

Last month I shot the production shots for the first Red Stitch: The Actors' Theatre show of the year, The Way Things Work. It's a fantastic political but human play. The 2 actors are practically running a marathon of characters. It's on until 5th March, check it out!

The themes about the corrupting temptations of power and money are clear here, but this play is emotionally stronger when it examines relationships between men.

When you're working with someone like Brian Edmond, creating a series of character headshots comes easily. This set shows how just a few small costume changes (and a quick shave!) can create a completely different tone to the image, as well as some masterful acting of course!

Yesterday I had a wonderful morning taking photos for O'Reilly's Jewellery in Melbourne. A truly family business in the centre of town who offer a personal service and decades of experience. But mostly, they're thoroughly lovely people!
