Seeing more Tawny Frogmouths (Podargus strigoides) is a really good sign, especially if habitat and food are doing okay but sharper eyes play a huge role too. Once your brain learns their shape, posture, and that “broken branch” look, you suddenly start spotting them everywhere. It’s like unlocking a new wildlife skill level.
You’re also spending more time out, slowing down, scanning trunks properly, and reading the landscape like a photographer and a naturalist now. Frogmouths haven’t changed their tricks you’ve just gotten better at the game 👀
