Nixz Kerr was born in New Zealand and lived in the beautiful Christchurch until 2006 when she moved to Melbourne. She has called Melbourne home ever since and loves the quirky alleyways, old buildings, history, fabulous food and the diverse culture that Melbourne has to offer. It is easy to be creative in Melbourne with its wealth of culture, beauty and diversity and is a massive source for her c
reative drive. Ever since she can remember, she has been drawn to the arts and has painted and drawn since scribbling in those first books given to her as a child. Her absolute passion is photography. This passion was ignited when she purchased a digital camera in 2003. When this camera finally died on a dirtbike track, whist photographing dirtbike racers, it was time to get serious. It was time to learn to use a DSLR. Joining a UK site which offered tutorials, Nixz started teaching herself photography and techniques. It was in Early 2010 when she ended up photographing the Vic Dirtbike Series. Her images were supplied to Steve at http://www.holeshotimages.com.au and for dirtbike season of 2010, she drove all over country Victoria, car camped and took photos of dirtbike racers. At this time, Nixz commenced working with models and professional equipment to hone her skills, developing her own style and portfolio. She also took as many short courses and specific technique courses as possible, and has done a number of workshops with Peter Coulson, to name one. Nearing the end of 2010, Nixz applied for the Photo Imaging course at NMIT Fairfield. Study started in 2011, working full time during the day and studying photography part time at night. She has continued to take commercial engagements and shoots models seeking to build their portfolios, as well as head shots and creative work
In 2015 Nixz graduated from PhotoImaging at Melbourne Polytechnic and is looking forward to a career filled with creative highlights and working full time as a photographer
