It's that time again. Time to enter some art into the . All works are A5 in size, from various artists around Australia. Some of whom are well known, and the rest of us, not so. Each piece is $100, with money going to support artists with disabilities.

"Even the darkest night will end, and the sun will rise." — Victor Hugo 🌅

An early start at Fairhaven, looking toward Split Point Lighthouse. The sky never stays still—shifting, changing, painting something new with every passing moment. Turn away for a second and you might miss it… but then again, something just as beautiful is always unfolding somewhere else.

The sun rises, shadows soften, and the world begins again.
Good morning

On a journey along the iconic Great Ocean Road, I chose to pause and turn my lens toward the road itself. More than a path between destinations, it is a ribbon of possibility — winding through coastal cliffs, rolling farmland, and ever-changing skies.

Rain, hail, or shine, this road leads to some of Australia’s most breathtaking landscapes, but in this moment, it became the subject. Its curves draw the eye forward, inviting exploration and promising beauty beyond the bend.

This stretch of asphalt has carried me toward countless sunrises, storm fronts, and quiet reflections. It is not just a road, but a journey — one that continues to bring me joy and remains one of my most cherished escapes.

✨“Everyone has a dark cloud hovering over them at some point, but then there is sunshine.” — Nikita Thukral ✨

We are quick to fear the clouds — the weight of them, the storms they carry.
But without clouds, there is no rain.
Without rain, there is no growth.

Clouds cleanse the earth.
They nourish the soil.
They feed the forests, the fields… and in turn, us.

Perhaps the dark seasons in our lives are not here to break us,
but to renew us.

I can freeze time… what’s your superpower?

Here in Maroochydore, time slows with the tide. Through intentional camera movement, the waves become brushstrokes — silk and motion, chaos and calm in the same breath.

I follow the swell, waiting for that fleeting second when the ocean reveals its rhythm. To capture it, you don’t just watch the waves — you become one with them. You feel the roll beneath your feet, the pull and draw of the water, the inhale and exhale of the sea.

For a split second, everything aligns. The shutter falls. Time stands still.

And just like that, the ocean is frozen — but its heartbeat remains.

in flight.

Whether you’re a pied oystercatcher skimming the shoreline, a silver gull dancing on the breeze, or simply riding the swell at Maroochydore, the feeling is the same — freedom.

Here, the wind carries your worries out to sea.
The waves whisper rhythm into your bones.
Salt hangs in the air like a promise.

Embrace the gusts.
Lose yourself in the endless conversation between ocean and sky.
Stretch your arms wide and let nature hold you.

Out here, peace isn’t something you search for — it finds you.

Maroochydore waves have a language all their own.

There’s a certain peace that comes from standing at the shoreline and simply watching — the ever-changing shapes, the rolling forms, the rhythmic hush as water meets sand.

It’s meditation without trying.
A lullaby carried on salt air.

The sea never repeats itself, yet it always feels familiar.
And somehow… you can never get enough. 🌊

Maroochydore waves and quiet feels.
A balmy evening walk as clouds gather, hinting at a coming storm.
The sun spills warm tones across the sky,
while waves whisper at the shoreline,
washing away the weight of the day.

People drift past—unhurried, connected—
soaking in the gentle air and each other’s company.
Breathe in. Breathe out.
In moments like this, on the shores of Maroochydore,
it’s hard to ask for anything more.

Today marks the 43rd anniversary of the Ash Wednesday fires.
Fires raged across two states, calling more than 130,000 volunteer firefighters into action.
Over 180 fires tore through the landscape.
Forty-seven lives were lost in Victoria, and a further twenty-eight in South Australia.
Some 3,700 homes and buildings were destroyed.

This day is chiselled into our collective memory.

"Survivor" - my painting - was created in the aftermath of the 2019 fires that raged down the NSW coast and into Victoria. It stands as a quiet reflection on endurance, loss, and the strength that remains after the flames have passed.
