It’s been a while since I’ve shared anything on my grid—life has been a lot behind the lens for the past 2 years really, and I haven’t had the space for social media this year at all. In fact - I’ve posted a grand total of 7 times in 2024. But I couldn’t resist posting this series before the year wraps up.
I’ve always loved rhubarb—there’s something about its bold colors, earthy texture. Both of which are amplified when it’s home grown (thanks ) This series is a little love letter to this bold ingredient and the beauty of simplicity.
I’d love to hear—what’s been inspiring you this year, in food or otherwise? How are you wrapping up 2024?

I am thrilled, and honoured, to share that I have been shortlisted for the 2024 Pink Lady Food Photographer Of The Year.

This shortlist means so much to me, and to be included yet again, is just amazing. There are so many fabulous images this year from my peers around the world - you are all so incredible. It was lovely to see so many familiar names on the list. Congratulations to everyone - and here’s to the awards in June. May the odds be ever in our favour 🥂

STORYTELLING: A narrative of sophistication and elegance, touched by the warmth of contemporary photography.

Breathing new life into an old world. This series of images for a client captures the essence of tradition through a contemporary lens. From the warm amber of a fine whiskey to the grandeur of architectural beauty, I redefined the classics. Each shot is a conversation between the past and present, an invitation to explore the familiar with fresh eyes. Tradition and heritage - but make it contemporary.

Like a rainbow with all of the colours 🌈

Deserving of its own place on the grid; the image that people were falling over themselves for last year; so here she is.

Props can be the unsung heroes of our work and play such an important role. So here’s to the props, the prop hire houses, the prop stylists, and all the suppliers and ceramicists 🥂

These are ceramics made in Portugal from the now closed 😢 I have more than I care to admit to 🫣 Alongside some thrift store finds.

It’s 2024 - What’s your word?

I’m back after taking a much earned break, and confession time: I didn’t miss social media. I missed the PEOPLE and the COMMUNITY - but not the platform.

So now that I’m back on the job I’m curious - what is your word of the year for 2024?

I do this little exercise every year and find it works so ouch better than the typical resolution(s). If you’re new to this, you pick a word (swipe to see mine), and everything you do in the year to come has to encapsulate that word somehow. You make it your code.

It can help give you direction; help you make decisions; help answer questions.

Life in the public space of Instagram can seem like a bunch of roses, and career-wise I had a fabulous year last year. But my personal life in 2023 was trash to be honest, and I took a lot of energy away from my career. I had rugs pulled out from under me, things ripped away from me, and got constantly kicked down by life until I was left seeing out the end of 2023 on the floor, with my face in the metaphorical dust. She was a hard one.

So 2024 is my year to RISE.

Lots of things planned on the photography/career front, such as:
- launching the most kick-ass course for creatives with
- Heading to Miami to see - hopefully with a workshop in the works 😉 over there
- Networking with publishing houses
- Releasing a PDF for you all with practical tips for launching your own photography business
- and more ☺️

So come join me up here, we can rise together ###
