Curry Night for the 1st post of Autumn, and oh how Melbourne delivered ⛈

I almost didn't upload this as I felt a touch frivolous showing a plentiful table while people from Ukraine to New South Wales are all suffering, losing their homes and livelihoods.
But a hot meal is the best way to show care and love, atleast in my house. Food plays an important part of nurture & love as my mom & both my grandmoms and now me express love, care and gratitude through food.
Sending lots of love & care to all those who are suffering consequences through no fault of their own.

Sharing this beautiful shot I took over the weekend at a workshop with the super talented .productions_zpp

Happy Friyay! 🥂

Enjoying the warm and sunny weather with these beauties today!

I wanted the lightness of the weather/season to reflect on my photos so went with light and bright instead of my usual moody vibe. Its peach season so I shot a bellini! I also chose almost peachy tones (analogous playing with orange/peach tones and neutral backdrop + red raspberries for a pop) to match the drink and took it from there.Let me know what you think of it.

While I'm still not baking & cooking in full swing, I'm enjoying practising beverage photography as I work my way through course. Going back to the colour wheel to explore.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Painting the seasons - SS22
Be Kind to yourself! That's my motto I'm "trying" to practice this year. Trying being the operative word .

I'm taking it slow as my finger heals. I just wanted to try something like this for a while I almost didn't post this as I haven't made the Macarons myself, they're a gift from my husband. I often feel guilty when I shoot food I haven't cooked/baked myself as that's the first question people ask, did you make that? I feel embarrassed saying no, I bought it. But that's on me, I'm allowed to enjoy treats and takeaways too.

I don't know why it matters either way because I'm a Food Stylist as well so there are times where I style and shoot that I haven't made. Be kind to to yourself, see doing a good job already. Check back in a month!
What have you decided to do for yourself this year?

Festive Wreath Entremet ➡️
to see another version. Which one do you like?
Gingerbread ~ Whisky Salted Caramel ~ Pear +Ginger gel~ Hazelnut Dacquoise

Boy has it been a while since I made a full fledged entremet with 5 layers, add colouring and tempering chocolate along with a very sore and damaged finger. It was a true test of my husband's and my patience and perseverance. But in the end it was all worth it. It tastes better than I had ever imagined!

The joy of bringing a recipe to life is something I live for, it is exactly what I set out to do 5 years ago when I decided to study Pâtissière
As we start to wind down another year, a fairly rough one at that. I can't help but take comfort in the fact that I'm still sharing food with people albeit in a slightly different way than I had initially thought to do.
I know I promised I'd be sharing recipes but my hand is still at 35% capacity. This dessert took me nmmuuuucchhh longer than it should have so I'm going to push it all to next year till I recover.

In the mean time let's enjoy some festive cheer.

Gingerbread Martini
Looks like a Gingerbread Martini is sort of becoming a tradition in our household. Last year I did another version which was rich and decadent, this time i decided to keep it a little light and dry.

45ml Gin, distilled with ginger I used
30ml Vermouth
15ml Gingerbread Syrup (recipe linked in higlights)
15ml

A few cubes of Ice to shake. Enjoy chilled.
Why not try the one from last year too and let me know which one you like better! 😉

Maybe I'll do a series- 3 ways to enjoy flavours of gingerbread this festive season. What do you think? Something exciting is coming!

Oh not another Chia Pudding! This Chai Chia Pudding, trust me isn't just another Chia Pudding.

This one is humming with warming chai spices and resonates at a very deep level to my 0 to no waste policy in the kitchen.
The oat milk is flavoured with spent tea grounds and spices used to brew your morning chai.
To your still warm tea grounds (immediately after pouring your cup o chai) add oat/plant based milk, +1 tsp freshly grated ginger for extra zing. Stir, cover and refrigerate tough out the day. While you prep dinner, stain the milk extracting all the flavours and proceed to make chia pudding as you normally would along with 2tbsp maple.
Alternately steam 500 mls of oat milk with 1 tbsp assam tea leaves with 1 lightly crushed cardamom pod, 1pinch each of powdered nutmeg , cinnamon & cloves along with fresh grated ginger and 1 sprig of mint and steep for 3-4 hrs before straining.

I make a large-ish batch which is enough for 6 of these little jars - 3 breakfasts for 2. I switch up the toppings so it's a little different each time my favourites are
🥥 Coyo+ cinnamon
🍓 Berries + cacao pwd
🍊 Mandarin + chocolate coated buckinis

Originally made as a quick, meal prep batch breakfast for summer for I have had it on regular rotation all the way through Aussie winter.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎄 I love chocolates & shooting flatlays, they are such strong Storytelling tools and perfect for showing off product collections like this festive chocolate range by . Gorgeous handmade moulded and filled chocolates and beautiful chocolate Christmas cards.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful festive season. I know I've been a bit quiet on here but it appears the fracture on my finger was deeper so I will need to wear the splint for a few more weeks. Ugh few more weeks of limited mobility plus some therapy.

Typing & editing are a challenge so are eating and cooking tbh so I've had to scrap most of my festive content and rework a few things. I'm churning stuff out albeit slowly. Expect a photo dump soon though hehe. It's like I have a small treasure trove of un uploaded festive content coming soon.

Looking forward to taking a break soon and catching up on all of your amazing content. X

Can you Email this recipe to me? I have been hearing that a lot recently.
Hello Insta fam! It's been a while! Just popping in to say 👋🏻

It has been a crazy few weeks and hopefully I can share what I have been up to really soon. I have been out and about, socialising (finally!), shooting & recipe testing along with working on some exciting things.

So sometime back I had held a poll on my story asking if you guys would like to recive recipes via post, story or email. Surprisingly or maybe unsurprisingly the answers were almost at par for Emails & posts with emails coming in just a touch higher.

While I love sharing recipes A newsletter is a lot of work and commitment so if you guys are up for it, I'm all in!

I have a treasure trove of recipes which I never share as I feel aren't needed/wanted so I never shared them but off late I had a few lovely people showing interest in my recipes too.
Let me know (sticker in stories) if you'd like to recive few recipes every month and I'll make it happen.

Salted Caramel & Dark Chocolate Tart. Classics are always so comforting.

Gulab Jamuns to sweeten the Festive season.
These little milk dumplings are fried and soaked in a saffron, rose & cardamom syrup, often served warm, they are pure decadence. It is no surprise that this remains one of the most popular traditional Indian sweets!

Let me know if you want the recipe.

Happy Dhanteras!
