There’s something about a first look that feels different to every other moment of the day. Just the two of you, seeing each other for the very first time.

Sloan and Lochie’s story started in a karaoke bar in Florence. She was studying abroad, and Lochie was passing through on a Contiki tour. He sat across from her, they connected instantly, and even after he moved on to the next city, they kept messaging until somehow, they became each other’s best friend.

Lochie had the proposal fully planned out, and while some things didn’t go to plan, like the “oceanfront” balcony view he thought they’d booked for their South Beach Miami getaway, none of it really mattered once he went down on one knee that night and asked Sloan to marry him.

They got married with an intimate guest list, just the people who know them best.

It was such an honour to witness and photograph their wedding, surrounded by the people they love most, all in one place to celebrate them. 🤍

These are the kinds of texts that make late nights of editing, long days of shooting, and hours at my desk so worth it.

Gallery delivery day is always a little nerve-wracking, no matter how many I’ve done, but this is why I keep showing up the way I do.

Hearing that a couple loves their photos, that the gallery makes them want to relive their day and every moment in it over and over - that’s the whole point.

Having a collection of images that brings you right back to how it all felt, no matter how much time has passed.

Getting ready is one of my favourite parts of a wedding day to photograph.

Being intentional with who you choose to be around when you get ready for your wedding makes a real difference. Veronica’s bridesmaids kept the vibe so easy and fun, singing and dancing at one point, and just enjoying the morning together.

They knew when to calm things down and when to bring the energy up, and there was a level of comfort that helped set her up well for the day she’d been looking forward to the most. 🤍

Veronica and Jack skipped the usual detour of a post-ceremony photo session and walked straight into their champagne tower - married and right into the celebration.

It made for the perfect bookend, one final moment together before their guests swarmed in for hugs and glasses of their own. Such an fun and easy transition from ceremony into cocktail hour, and it meant their reception felt like it had already started the second they said I do. 🥂

Veronica and Jack haven’t missed a date night since 2013, when they first met over burgers at Brodburger in Canberra. Jack decided that night he’d find every excuse to see her again.

Years later he proposed at a cliffside chateau in the South of France. He’d been planning it for months, sneaking off to ring shop and plan proposal spots while Veronica napped, and avoiding every hint about a timeline. When he popped the question, she said yes, they kissed, and sat down to a 14-course meal at a Michelin-starred restaurant.

They got married at Hubert Estate, one of our favourite venues in the Yarra Valley. Elegant, modern and chic was the vibe these two were after, and the venue’s design matched it perfectly. Add in the incredible staff, food and wine their guests enjoyed all night, and it made for the perfect setting to celebrate the best day of their lives. 🤍

A little throwback to this campaign shoot we did at the stunning Hubert Estate.

Fresh summer colours mixed with rich autumnal tones, seasonal produce woven through the tablescape alongside dainty florals, and those dramatic floral installations at each end tying it all together.

Modern, luxe, and a little playful.

Look at these faces and tell me the vibe wasn’t immaculate all day.

When you fill your wedding party with the right people, the whole day just feels that much better. They’re the ones keeping you calm when you feel nerves creeping in, hyping you up when the moment calls for it, and making every single part of the day more fun just by being there.

And yes, sometimes this looks like popping a bottle of champagne mid-portraits, and drinking it straight after. 😉

Isabelle and James had their closest people around them all day, and you can feel just how joyful, happy and at ease they were by simply looking at these photos.

Isabelle and James lived in the same suburb their whole lives, yet it took a festival in Amsterdam for them to actually meet.

When asked what they were most looking forward to on their wedding day, they both said the same thing. That first moment - walking down the aisle and finally seeing each other for the first time.

Getting to be a part of their day was such a privilege. They had told me that they wanted their wedding day to be all about bringing together everyone they love and celebrating with them in a way that feels classic, timeless, and truly us. And they did exactly that.

The George Ballroom was such a stunning backdrop for it all. The ornate walls, the timber floors, and the warm, moody lighting. And that dip kiss on the way out was the perfect ending to their ceremony. 🤍
