Another morning, another mountain
Another moment, another memory
A morning moment at the top of a mountain, taking in the views. A camera shot and an iPhone shot. For me, these moments are more precious because of the effort it takes to get here. There’s something special about being the only person in the world at this place at this time and these are the moments I like to share most, through photos.
A 3.5 hour drive, followed by a 4 hour hike with a full pack. Set up a tent and camping overnight. Wake before sunrise and walk 1.5km to the summit. Take a few photos and kick back for a while to enjoy the moment. Then reverse everything to get back home.

Dragonflies doing dragonfly stuff
Did you know dragonflies are predators. They hunt flying insects and they don’t chase prey, they intercept it with uncanny precision and have a 95%+ success rate. Their wings are independently controlled, they can fly in every direction and they have almost 360 degree vision. They have a rare ability to be aware of their surroundings while staying laser focused on their target. When it comes to mating they’re also very precise, the male captures the female and they assume the wheel formation and can be fininshed in minutes or sometimes it takes hours. Amazing little creatures. I found these two keeping busy at the Chiang Dao wildlife sanctuary in Chiang Mai Thailand.

The world is so different from the top of a mountain. Problems seem smaller, dreams seem possible and the obstacles in life seem easier to overcome. Sometimes when you look at things from a different perspective everything becomes clear.

A beautiful morning vibe in rural Australia.
A few different shots from a new day in rural Victoria, the southernmost state of mainland Australia. Victoria has a great combination of incredible coastal areas, stunning high country, rolling farmland and very cool towns and cities. A great place to visit and an amazing place to live. These misty mornings create beautiful moody moments.

Do you like to wake early?
The opportunity to capture a nice photo is always good motivation to wake up and get moving. I found this spot after taking some sunrise photos and really enjoyed the composition. Lake Myrtle in Tasmania just after sunrise.

This mountain dominates the skyline in Chiang Dao Thailand.
Doi Luang Chiang Dao is Thailand’s third highest peak at 2,225 metres, it’s been declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO and it forms part of the Chiang Dao Wildlife Sanctuary. A beautiful backdrop in this part of Thailand.
