🛞💨 Drifting hits the Mountain — Bathurst 12 Hour 2026

A first in the history of the Bathurst 12 Hour: a professional drift car turned laps at Mount Panorama. Steve "Baggsy" Biagioni flew in from Essex, UK, to headline the Scuderia Autoart DRIFT DEMO, supported by ST Suspension and Monster Energy , bringing his 1,200bhp Nissan R35 GT-R to one of the most demanding circuits on the planet.

Baggsy's no stranger to big numbers, the 2009 British Drift Championship "King of Kings," he's spent years building and developing this GT-R (originally an LSX V8-swapped build out of his own shop, SB Motorsport) into the machine that hit the Mountain this year. Watching a car built for smoke and angle tackle Skyline and Conrod at speed was a genuinely different kind of entertainment for a GT endurance crowd.

Wherever the GT3 field wasn't on track, this was the show ,a hot lap and full drift demo, tyres well and truly sacrificed for the fans.

🎨🏁 #32 BMW M4 GT3 EVO | Ken Done Art Car Tribute | Bathurst 12 Hour 2026

One of the standout liveries at this year's Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour , Team WRT's #32 BMW M4 GT3 EVO, wrapped in a tribute to Australian artist Ken Done's 1989 BMW Art Car #8.

Done's original design was painted on a Group A BMW M3 E30, the same chassis Jim Richards drove to the 1987 Australian Touring Car Championship title. Inspired by "the brilliance and motion of parrots and parrot fish," Done wanted the car to look like it was moving fast even standing still. Bringing it back to Mount Panorama in 2026 doubled up as a celebration: 50 years of the BMW Art Car Collection, and 40 years of the BMW M3.

Behind the wheel: Kelvin van der Linde 🇿🇦, Charles Weerts 🇧🇪 and Jordan Pepper 🇿🇦, defending Team WRT's 2025 Bathurst win. The #32 ran at the front for most of the race and was leading at the final restart, before contact in Turn 1 on the last hour forced a late pit stop for repairs , dropping them back down the order after such a strong run.

Livery aside, it's a great reminder of how much history and storytelling gets layered onto these cars , this one connects a 2026 GT3 EVO all the way back to an ATCC-winning E30 and a piece of BMW art history from 1989.

🚁🤯 A helicopter. Doing backflips. At the Pacific Airshow Gold Coast. Yes, really.

If there was a single moment at the Pacific Airshow 2026 that stopped the crowd dead and had people genuinely questioning what they were seeing, it was Bryce Nietvelt putting the MBB Bo 105 (N13TZ) through its full aerobatic display — rolls, loops, inverted flight, and yes — a full backflip.

Let that sink in. A helicopter. Doing a backflip. Over the Gold Coast.

Bryce was hands down one of the highlights of the entire Pacific Airshow weekend, and the crowd reaction said everything. People who had never heard of the Bo 105 before were standing open-mouthed, phones in the air, genuinely unable to process what they were watching. That is the effect this aircraft and this pilot have on an audience.

We have posted about the Bo 105 before — and we have talked about why it can do what no other helicopter on the planet can, thanks to its revolutionary rigid titanium rotor head. At Shellharbour earlier this year, Bryce gave us a taste of what was coming. At the Pacific Airshow, he delivered the full show. Rolls. Loops. Sustained inverted flight. And the backflip that brought the house down.

The world's most aerobatic helicopter, flown by one of the world's most extraordinary pilots, at one of Australia's biggest airshows. And we were there to photograph it. 🇦🇺

One of the moments avgeeks dream about — No. 100 Squadron and the RAAF Roulettes flying formation together over the Gold Coast at Pacific Airshow.

Leading the formation is CAC Mustang VH-SVU, wearing the markings of A68-750, alongside Spitfire VH-HET in the iconic "Grey Nurse" scheme — the WWII livery of 457 Squadron. Bringing up the rear, four PC-21s from the Roulettes: A54-44, A54-35, A54-23 and A54-20.

Warbirds and modern trainers, sharing the sky. Doesn't get much better than this.
