Vale Aunty Robyn Reid. I didn’t have to know Robyn well to know that she was as good they come. She was always so happy, laughing at the sight of the girls as she burst into playgroup so excited to see all the tiny kids enjoying the space that is Mingaletta, our local Aboriginal Community Centre.
Every time I met Aunty Robyn her smile beamed from her face, and she left quite an impression in her enormous “Always Was Always Will Be” flag coat that was as long as she was.
Sending my respects to her family and community, thank you for being a beautiful soul Aunty Robyn and welcoming us into your world.
These photos + videos I took at last year’s NAIDOC celebrations.
Some words below from
✨ In Loving Memory of Aunty Robyn Reid ✨
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Aunty Robyn a woman whose kindness, beauty, and radiant sunshine touched every corner of our community.
Aunty Robyn had a gift for making every person feel seen, welcomed, and valued she carried a warmth that lifted spirits, a generosity that knew no limits, and a quiet strength that inspired all who were lucky enough to know her she gave tirelessly, especially to all who attended Mingaletta, offering her time, her energy, and her heart without ever asking for anything in return.
Aunty Robyn’s presence was a shining light, showed that love, compassion and goodness still exists in the world she created spaces where everyone felt included, supported, and cared for. That legacy will continue to ripple through our community for years to come.
As we honour her memory, we invite you to share a message, a story, or a happy memory of Aunty Robyn. Whether it’s a moment she made you smile, a kindness she offered, or a time she brightened your day, your words will help keep her spirit alive in the hearts of all who knew her.
May her light continue to guide us, and may we carry forward the love she so freely gave.
Rest peacefully in Dreamtime, Aunty Robyn. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished. ❤️
