A little BTS from Heather’s branding shoot 🤍

This was Heather’s first time in front of my camera, and it was so lovely watching her settle into the session ✨

There were laughs, relaxed moments, and lots of those little in-between shots that happen when you stop thinking about the camera and just enjoy the experience.

As part of the team at , Heather supports people through different seasons of life, bringing a warm and down-to-earth approach to her work. It was important to me that her photos captured that same sense of warmth and approachability 📸

We kept things natural and easy, with a mix of professional portraits and more relaxed images that let Heather’s personality come through.

You can have an amazing business, but if your visuals don’t reflect the person behind it, there can be a disconnect.

Your photos are often doing the introducing before you get the chance to.

They help potential clients get a sense of who you are, what working with you might feel like, and whether they can see themselves trusting you with what they need.

And honestly, I think that’s why the best branding photos don’t feel overly polished or posed.

They feel like you on your best day. 🤍

The way you laugh.
The way you work.
The little details that make your business yours.

That’s the stuff that makes people remember you.

I get it—when you’ve got beautiful props, it’s tempting to use all of them. But cluttered flat lays are overwhelming, not eye-catching. The trick? Less is more.

Stick to 3-5 key elements that tell a story. Give each item breathing room so they don’t feel like they’re battling for attention. It’ll instantly look more polished and professional.

But that's only part of it.

White backgrounds don’t have to be boring—here’s how to make them pop! 🤍"
A clean white background is a classic for product photos, but sometimes it can look flat and lifeless. Here’s how to keep it crisp and interesting:

✔ Use a textured white surface – Try marble, linen, or whitewashed wood for subtle detail.
✔ Add soft shadows – Position your product near a window so natural light gives dimension.
✔ Use a reflector – A piece of white foam board opposite the light source can bounce light back and even things out.

A little texture + good lighting = the difference between blah and beautiful! Do you prefer a crisp white background or a little texture?
