my beautiful client Naomi had her final fitting this afternoon and collected her custom designed and made bridal gown all ready for her May wedding. While Naomi's final fitting was not scheduled until the end of the month, Ive completed her gown early and she was estatic to pick it up early. Naomi has been been such a pleasure to work with, she has had a clear vision of what her perfect gown would be from the start and couldn't find it in a store. Ive been able to bring her dream gown to life for her and cannot wait to see photos!

EASTER IN BLOOM|
Today I was out of the Studio for the Easter in Bloom race day . I was awarded "Lady of the Track", judged by attendees of the event and not set judges like usual.

My outfit was put together very last minute from items I already had 😄

Some alteration jobs make you wish you had started from scratch. These fully lined pants with an overskirt need to be taken in on all seams and hemmed. Layers have been unpicked from the waist band so each layer can be taken in individually.

Working on a custom pair of Satin Back Crepe pants for a client today.

This afternoon I was able to cross two custom gowns off my list finishing them both in between client appointments today.

I have some beautiful custom gowns this year, and cannot wait to share them.

EMILY |

Emily had her formal in Moranbah on Friday night wearing her gorgeous sparkily formal gown.

I assisted with some alterations including a multi layer hem, take in at the sides which required rhinestones to be pealed off before the dress could be taken in, then after purchasing a Hot Fix applicator and rhinestones I was alble to replace the rhinestones down the side seams and any others I found to be missing.

Another bridal gown alteration completed. This gown required the straps shortening, bust cups, train bustle and a 4 layer hem with the top layer being lace. After so many plainer gowns, lace gowns seem to be making a come back.

This wedding gown has come in simply for me to supply and hand stitch covered buttons down the back of the gown right to the end of the train.

SHARNEY |
Sharney recently married and I assisted with alterations to her gown and created her veil which was made from a tulle which had beads, pearls and sequins.

When Sharney first brought her dress over it had tulle sections at the back with lace and cap sleeves. To transform the gown the tulle and lace were unpicked out of the back, cap sleeves taken out, gown was hemmed, a train bustle added. From the hem offcuts I had covered buttons made by to go down the zip for a little extra detail.

Working on this gown this afternoon, the buttons on the cuffs needed moving over, straps shortened, bust cups, take in down back, replaced zip with a heavy duty invisible, 3 layer hem and now sewing buttons back down the zip line.
